About The Position

The Senior Production Material Planner is a career-level role responsible for material planning for assigned electronics and mechanical commodities supporting battery energy storage system (BESS) production. The role translates production schedules into supply requirements through MRP, maintains planning parameters and master data, and works with suppliers to deliver against the build plan. In collaboration with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance, the planner identifies material constraints, resolves shortages, and manages inventory impacts arising from engineering changes and new product introduction builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of material planning, production planning, or supply chain experience; 3+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, bills of material, and discrete manufacturing planning processes.
  • Working knowledge of electronics and mechanical components such as PCBAs, harnesses, busbars, and machined parts.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis for clear-to-build, run-out, and inventory analysis.
  • Ability to manage supplier relationships and secure delivery commitments from domestic and international suppliers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume electronics, automotive, or battery manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead material planning for assigned electronics and mechanical commodities, translating production schedules and demand into MRP-driven supply requirements.
  • Maintain planning parameters and master data, including lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, and bills of material, to reflect supplier capability and meet inventory, service-level, and cost targets.
  • Perform daily supply and constraint management, including clear-to-build and run-out analysis, and resolve shortages and exceptions ahead of the build schedule.
  • Serve as the primary interface with assigned suppliers on delivery status, schedule changes, and issue resolution; escalate to Global Supply Chain Management, Quality, or Engineering when required.
  • Manage engineering changes and product transitions to minimize excess and obsolete inventory and maintain continuity of supply.
  • Support new product introduction builds by confirming material readiness from prototype through production ramp.
  • Develop, track, and report material KPIs, including clear-to-build, days on hand, excess and obsolete inventory, and supplier on-time delivery, to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance.
