About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career. As a Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Implementing programs to improve quality, reduce cost, and expand offerings in the Command™ Brand product line. Primary responsibility will be support for Command™ hardgoods. Working closely with product development teams (NPI) and lead management of change programs (MOC) as needed to support growth in the business. Verifying and documenting product specifications for new and existing products. Conducting product claims testing and document test results via claim substantiation process. Interacting closely with key internal and external manufacturers and suppliers to deliver high-quality retail products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years combined manufacturing and/or laboratory experience within a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Experience leading and/or contributing to cross-functional teams
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Previous hardgoods engineering or rotary converting experience
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding in tape and/or adhesive manufacturing or research and development
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute product verification/claim substantiation test plans
  • Ability to develop & validate test methods and properly document test results
  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in design of experiments and other statistical methods
  • Strong communication, organizational, project management and problem-solving skill
