Senior Product Strategist, Pharmacy Experience

Shoppers Drug MartToronto, ON
CA$100,000 - CA$132,000Onsite

About The Position

At Shoppers Drug Mart, we’re innovating health and wellness in Canada. From prescriptions to walk-in clinics, and a beloved loyalty program, we’re caring and supporting our customers in new ways every day. With more than 1,300 locally owned and operated stores from coast to coast, the Shoppers Drug Mart network is more than a great place to shop, it’s a great place to work. We’re committed to building our talented team who champion collaboration, kindness and inclusivity. Join our team, and help recognize a healthy future for your career and for all Canadians. Pharmacy Experience at Shoppers Drug Mart shapes how millions of Canadians interact with their pharmacy and how thousands of pharmacy teams deliver that care every day. We own the strategy, product, and experience design behind a multi-year transformation of patient and pharmacy-team touchpoints. We're hiring a Senior Product Strategist to lead product across a portfolio of pharmacy digital programs. You’ll dig into the problem space to find problems worth solving, shape the solutions collaboratively with partners, develop the business case to win funding, gather requirements directly from pharmacists and patients, write the product briefs our delivery partners build against, and hold the bar on user experience as features ship. Your work balances three lenses on every decision: business priorities, the workflow our pharmacy teams use, and the experience patients have with us. You'll partner with operations, technology, and external product delivery teams to turn strategy into shipped product.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in product management, product strategy, or a closely product-adjacent role (e.g. product consulting, internal product strategy in a large operator)
  • A track record of authoring business cases that survived executive scrutiny: sizing opportunities, modeling value, defending assumptions in a skeptical room
  • Hands-on service design experience: conducting primary research (interviews, observation, ride-alongs), synthesizing findings into insights, producing visual artifacts (journey maps, service blueprints), and facilitating workshops with cross-functional groups
  • Strong UX judgment. You can review a wireframe, prototype, or live build and call out where it fails the user, even if you don't draw the fix yourself
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. You can move from a working session with engineers to a VP brief without changing register
  • Comfort operating in a matrixed organization where you don't own the delivery teams. You build agreement by being right and being clear

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in pharmacy, healthcare, or retail operations (e.g. former pharmacist, healthcare PM, frontline retail leader)
  • Formal training in service design, UX research, or human-centred design
  • Fluency with AI-native tools and how they reshape product work
  • Experience translating multi-year roadmaps into annual investment plans

Responsibilities

  • Set product strategy and own the multi-year roadmap for a portfolio of pharmacy digital programs spanning patient-facing channels and pharmacy-team workflows
  • Build the business case for major investments as they relate to pharmacy experience. Size the opportunity, model the value, defend the assumptions
  • Maintain a single ranked backlog of priorities across the portfolio and reconcile it against the broader pharmacy strategy.
  • Lead service design and discovery work: conduct primary research with pharmacy teams (pharmacists, technicians, store operations) and patients, synthesize findings into insights, build visual artifacts (i.e. journey maps) and facilitate workshops that ideate new solutions and surface requirements.
  • Translate research insights into product specs and briefs that delivery partners build against
  • Own the user experience bar across both audiences. Review what's shipping, push back when the UX drifts from intent, and validate delivered product against the requirements you set
  • Brief executives. Write the steerco narratives, business cases, and decision documents leadership uses to fund and direct the work
  • Collaborate in a matrixed environment alongside internal operations, internal technology, and external delivery partners
