About The Position

Liquid Instruments is hiring a Senior Product Marketing Engineer to lead the expansion of its Moku reconfigurable, FPGA-based test and measurement platform into aerospace and defense markets, with a focus on electronic warfare (EW), electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO), and assured positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT). The role defines priority market segments, applications, customers, and routes to market, and serves as the company's technical authority for A&D. San Diego is preferred; U.S. remote work is considered. The position develops market and competitive strategies, validates technical messaging with defense engineers, and produces application notes, white papers, case studies, and benchmark data. It owns technical go-to-market activities for A&D product launches and equips Sales, application engineers, and channel partners with training, demos, and competitive materials. The role also conveys customer evidence and market requirements to Product Management and R&D, supports customer evaluations and strategic pursuits, and represents Liquid Instruments at industry events. Expect approximately 30% travel. The role works closely with Content, Field Marketing, and Design teams, which manage the blog calendar, social channels, website production, and event logistics. Base compensation is $155,000–$170,000, depending on experience.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in product marketing, product management, business development, solutions architecture, applications engineering, systems engineering, or another customer-facing technical role, with substantial time in or near aerospace and defense.
  • Proven depth in electronic warfare, EMSO, SIGINT, radar, or assured PNT, including applications, test and validation workflows, programs, and key players.
  • Hands-on familiarity with RF and wideband test and measurement equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, digitizers, and FPGA-based signal processing.
  • Working understanding of defense procurement, including primes, neo-primes and subs, programs of record, SBIR/STTR, and how test equipment decisions are made.
  • Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and defense supply chain requirements.
  • Experience supporting market sizing and competitive analysis.
  • Understanding of competitors including Keysight, NI, Rohde & Schwarz, Tektronix, Safran, and precision timing vendors, as well as the PXI and open-architecture ecosystem.
  • Track record of bringing a technical product into a defense market from strategy through execution.
  • Ability to lead work across teams without formal authority.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast-moving work.
  • U.S. person status required.
  • Availability to travel for industry events and customer engagements, approximately 30%.
