Senior Product Manager

RapidAI
•$180,000 - $200,000

About The Position

RapidAI is hiring a senior individual-contributor Product Manager to own its mobile and web apps, which acute-care teams use to receive AI triage notifications, review imaging, and coordinate care. The role sets product direction, roadmap, and priorities for how clinicians receive AI results and act on them; clinical product managers own the AI modules, while commercial strategy and business development are handled by other teams. The product team works AI-first, using AI agents for discovery, requirements, and release work and building prototypes before specifications. The Product Manager is expected to make evidence-based product decisions, work directly with clinicians, and deliver measurable improvements while maintaining patient safety in a medical-device environment. The role works closely with Design, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical teams. It contributes to design controls, risk analysis, usability engineering, verification and validation, and release readiness. The Product Manager also communicates decisions and releases in writing, supports key customer conversations, and helps advance the product team's AI practices.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software product management experience, including ownership of a mobile or web product used by professionals in their daily work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, life sciences, nursing or another health profession, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Uses AI through repeatable workflows for research synthesis, requirements, analysis, and prototyping, and can demonstrate how it has affected work speed or quality.
  • Has built working prototypes or tools using AI coding tools and tested them with real users.
  • Demonstrates product judgment, prioritization under uncertainty, clear articulation of assumptions, and willingness to change direction based on evidence.
  • Has written precise, testable, complete requirements that engineers can build from directly, including edge cases.
  • Understands iOS and Android conventions, push-notification delivery and failure modes, poor-connectivity behavior, and app-release mechanics such as app-store review, staged rollout, and support for older versions.
  • Has technical fluency to discuss APIs, data models, and system design with engineers and work through trade-offs.
  • Writes clearly and concisely and can explain decisions to clinicians, engineers, and executives.
  • Takes ownership across team boundaries and critically defines, checks, and validates AI-assisted work before it reaches others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building products for clinicians, particularly in acute care such as stroke, emergency medicine, critical care, or radiology, or a clinical background such as nursing.
  • Experience shipping software as a medical device or in another regulated environment; working knowledge of FDA design controls, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and IEC 62366.
  • Experience shipping AI-powered features, writing evaluations, judging model-output quality, and designing for cases when the model is wrong.
  • Experience building agents, automations, or skills used by others in daily work.
  • Experience with real-time messaging, alerting, or care-team communication products.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data and interoperability, including DICOM, HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA.
  • Product analytics experience, including event instrumentation, funnels, and cohort analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Set the direction, roadmap, and priorities for RapidAI’s mobile and web apps, including deciding what not to build.
  • Tie initiatives to measurable outcomes and report results after release.
  • Regularly observe and engage clinicians and care teams in their workflows, then translate findings into clear problem statements.
  • Build working prototypes with AI coding and design tools, test them with clinicians, and use evidence to inform engineering commitments.
  • Write epics and user stories with testable acceptance criteria, edge cases, error states, and analytics events; ensure requirements are unambiguous, verifiable, and traceable to user needs and risk controls.
  • Identify opportunities for language models and agents to reduce clinicians’ workload, define quality measures and evaluations, and design for model errors.
  • Own notification behavior, thresholds, and settings while balancing risks of delayed or missed alerts against alert fatigue; partner with Platform and Engineering on delivery, monitoring, and supportability.
  • Define and maintain reusable app patterns, including notifications, patient list cards, case summaries, status feeds, and settings.
  • Work within design controls with Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical; contribute to risk analysis and usability engineering, support verification and validation, own release readiness, and raise regulatory assessment needs early.
  • Collaborate closely with Design and Engineering from problem definition through implementation, including making decisions during sprints and across time zones.
  • Communicate progress through demos and write roadmap updates, decision records, and release notes for relevant teams and executives.
  • Contribute product expertise to customer conversations and equip Product Marketing and Customer Success with information about releases and their value.
  • Improve the product team’s AI agents and workflows, automate repetitive work, share effective practices, and mentor other product managers by example.
