Senior Product Manager

Medsender•New York, NY
•$160,000 - $190,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Medsender's AI Medical Assistant® aims to alleviate the burden of administrative tasks for healthcare teams, allowing them to focus more on patient care. The company develops AI agents that handle tasks such as document classification, EHR syncing, referral coordination, patient reactivation, and phone support. These agents facilitate cross-system communication to expedite patient care and free up staff time. Medsender is currently expanding into patient engagement, a market dominated by established, older technologies. The company believes an AI-native product will be superior and is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead this initiative. The role involves taking an existing product and evolving it into a best-in-class solution. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with practice staff to understand workflows and identify opportunities for AI agents to fully automate tasks or assist human staff. This position requires a deep understanding of a specific problem area and a commitment to becoming an expert in it. The role reports to Max Headley, VP of Product.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in independently owning a B2B SaaS product area and achieving measurable results.
  • Experience with products where the buyer and the daily user are different individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability in customer discovery, making product decisions based on observed customer behavior rather than solely on requests.
  • Track record of taking a product beyond its initial release, making substantial improvements over multiple cycles, and being accountable for its performance.
  • Daily use of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) is required; candidates will be asked about their experience using these tools for building, investigating, or fixing issues.
  • Technical fluency, including the ability to understand system behavior and dependencies, query data independently, and evaluate the accuracy of AI-generated code.
  • Comfort with making decisions and taking action with incomplete information in a fast-paced, small-company environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, patient engagement, or workflow automation.
  • Experience with products that serve both business customers and their end-users (patients).
  • Experience building and evaluating AI agents in real-world workflows, including designing the handoff between AI and human operators.
  • Experience in early-stage product development, transitioning a first product into a more mature offering.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with practice staff and leaders to understand their workflows and patient interactions, looking beyond feature requests to underlying workarounds and friction.
  • Take full ownership of the product area, setting strategic direction, prioritizing problems, and managing the product lifecycle from discovery to adoption and results measurement.
  • Enhance the current Minimum Viable Product (MVP) into a leading solution by identifying shortcomings, developing a roadmap, creating prototypes, testing them in real workflows, and iterating based on feedback.
  • Define 'job completion' for AI agents, collaborate with engineering to build these agents, and clearly indicate when human intervention is necessary.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and utilize AI coding tools for product investigation, data analysis, and rapid testing of product concepts without immediate engineering dependency.
  • Track key metrics such as work completed, time saved for staff, patient follow-through, and adoption rates, using this data to inform and shape future releases.

  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Unlimited PTO (actively encouraged)
