The Senior Project Manager will manage the Lithonia Lighting® Troffer product category, leading NPD projects to ensure timely, within-budget, and satisfactory delivery. This role aims to accelerate sales growth, product vitality, and margin improvements across assigned categories. The role reports to the Vice President of Product Management for the Lithonia Lighting lay-in category.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of product management experience in electrical manufacturing, durable goods, preferably within the lighting industry.
  • Strong communicator and team player.
  • Strong understanding of product development life cycle.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of product management experience in the lighting industry.
  • Knowledge of lighting industry sales channels, key influencers, and primary decision makers.
  • Direct knowledge of commercial indoor lighting products, applications, and key competitors.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer base, applications, and competitors for assigned categories to develop competitive solutions and generate sales growth.
  • Act as the product champion with external partners (customers, sales) and internal partners (engineering, marketing, supply chain, finance).
  • Define product roadmap and project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Manage project expectations and provide timely escalation for product deviations to mitigate quality and/or supply chain risks.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones, and changes.
  • Collaborate with company support teams (product support, sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, customer service, sales) to support product categories and new product launches.
  • Proactively manage the product category portfolio, considering margin, mix, volume, product positioning, and discontinuations to drive productivity and profitability.
  • Present and provide product training for assigned and adjacent product categories to support teams, channel partners, and customers.
  • Lead, inspire, and influence the team to adhere to the product development system with phase gates, milestones, and predefined deliverables.
  • Possess basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques to lead and challenge the team.
  • Drive KPI compliance with the team, including phase gate compliance and performance tracking of productivity, margins, quality, ship promise compliance, inventory, and sales growth.
