About The Position

BambooHR is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the discovery layer for platform data and lead the program that makes product domains consumable by AI. The role makes data findable, documented, quality-scored, and safe for AI agents, and helps determine how quickly AI features can be developed by improving the underlying data discovery and readiness capabilities. The Product Manager will own the data catalog as a product, including domain onboarding, metadata and documentation standards, data quality signals, and search and discovery for internal builders and AI agents. They will run the AI-ready domain program by setting assessment criteria, migration sequencing, and a dated plan for bringing product domains to agent-consumable readiness. The role also owns readiness measurement, agent context and signal standards, and coordination with legal and security on classification, consent boundaries, and requirements for AI consumption. In the first 180 days, the successful candidate is expected to complete catalog onboarding for leading domains on the readiness assessment list with documented quality signals; publish a scoreboard showing every domain’s state, blocker, and date; establish a self-service domain onboarding playbook; and deliver the first dated batch of domain migrations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience in data platforms, data infrastructure, developer tools, or adjacent technical products.
  • Technical depth in metadata, data contracts, or data quality, including the ability to read a schema and evaluate readiness claims and documentation quality.
  • Ability to run a multi-team migration using a scoreboard, dates, and named owners.
  • Proven ability to drive alignment across teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to drive readiness work in domain teams whose roadmaps the candidate depends on but does not control.
  • Ability to maintain quality standards when there is pressure to mark domains ready prematurely.
  • Ability to build for both human builders who need discovery and documentation, and AI agents that need machine-readable contracts and guardrails.
  • Ability to explain readiness decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-directed and entrepreneurial, with the ability to identify the next constraint without waiting for direction.
  • Alignment with BambooHR values.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data catalogs, governance tooling, or master data management.
  • Exposure to AI and large language model (LLM) feature development and practical data usability for agents.
  • Product experience with graph or relationship-querying capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own the data catalog as a product, including domain onboarding, metadata and documentation standards, data quality signals, and search and discovery for internal builders and AI agents.
  • Run the AI-ready domain program, including setting the assessment bar, sequencing migrations, and maintaining a dated plan to make every product domain consumable by AI agents.
  • Sequence catalog population according to consumption demand, onboarding first the domains needed by AI features.
  • Partner with the owner of the canonical data model so catalog entries conform to its entity definitions.
  • Publish per-domain readiness status and distinguish clearly between domains that have been assessed and those that are ready.
  • Own the context and signal surfaces used by agents, including standards for which signals agents may use as capabilities advance from proof of concept to platform capabilities.
  • Work with legal and security counterparts on data classification, consent boundaries, and requirements for AI agent consumption of each domain.
  • Complete catalog onboarding for leading domains on the readiness assessment list, with documented quality signals, during the first 180 days.
  • Publish a readiness scoreboard showing every domain, its state, blocker, and date during the first 180 days.
  • Establish a domain onboarding playbook that enables domain teams to onboard themselves during the first 180 days.
  • Deliver the first dated batch of domain migrations toward migrating every product domain during the first 180 days.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance.
  • Generous leave policies including 4 weeks of vacation, 12 company holidays, parental leave, and volunteer time off.
  • 401(k) plan with up to 6% company match.
  • $2,000 Paid-Paid Vacation bonus.
  • Employee assistance program through Headspace.
  • Professional development and flexibility to thrive inside and outside the office.
