About The Position

Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform connecting people with Taskers for everyday home services. The Senior Product Manager for Commerce will own Taskrabbit's global commerce platform, covering client payments and Tasker payouts across all operating markets. The role is responsible for shaping and executing initiatives that make booking and payment easier for clients, deliver Tasker earnings quickly and reliably, reduce payment processing costs, and maintain a compliant, reliable platform. The position leads a team composed mainly of backend engineers and works closely with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal. The Product Manager will investigate payment issues end to end, prioritize and sequence initiatives with an engineering lead, balance user improvements against cost, compliance, and platform health, and communicate plans and outcomes to senior leadership. The company seeks a payments-experienced product leader who can operate independently, understand payment systems in depth, and champion the needs of both clients and Taskers. The role is hybrid and requires two days per week of in-office collaboration at Taskrabbit's San Francisco office at 130 Sutter Street.

  • Track payment metrics such as authorization and decline rates and know how to investigate changes in those metrics.
  • Care about user payment problems and investigate beyond initial answers to find root causes.
  • Be comfortable using AI tools to query data and understand system behavior; coding or SQL skills are not required.
  • Understand payment systems, including authorization and capture flows, ledgers, reconciliation, and processor and bank interactions, or be eager to learn the backend setup in detail.
  • Strong prioritization and tradeoff skills, including the ability to say no, explain decisions, and focus limited resources on high-impact work.
  • Build trusted relationships with company partners, gather input, and turn it into a clear plan; experience working with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal teams.
  • Demonstrate execution skills, remove blockers, contribute hands-on when needed, and communicate clearly in writing and in person.
