About The Position

As the Senior Product Manager for Employee Training at 7shifts, you will own a strategically important product pillar focused on integrating structured, engaging training directly into the 7shifts app. This role requires genuine ownership, considering operator adoption, employee completion rates, and long-term business viability. You will leverage AI not just as a user, but as someone who understands its potential to transform product capabilities. Your responsibilities will include using AI to streamline discovery, enhance squad capacity, and build AI-powered features. You will help restaurant operators move away from traditional training methods to a unified platform for employee preparation and manager tracking. The role encompasses the full product lifecycle, from AI-assisted course creation and employee engagement to completion tracking and manager reporting. You will need to balance the needs of busy operators, mobile employees, and the business objectives of growing a new product area. Reporting to the SVP, Product, you will collaborate with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, and Data teams throughout the product development process and be accountable for post-launch outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience in B2B SaaS and understanding of building tools for operators in fast-moving, high-pressure environments.
  • Proven experience taking a product or feature from zero to initial customers and improving it post-launch, with demonstrable outcomes.
  • Experience owning a roadmap end-to-end, making prioritization calls that link day-to-day work to business goals, supported by data and clear reasoning.
  • Ability to define success metrics, validate hypotheses, and use analytics to guide product decisions.
  • Skill in translating customer interviews, competitive research, and complex problems into simple, scalable solutions.
  • Daily use of AI tools for writing, information synthesis, and reducing time-to-decision, with the ability to integrate these habits into a team's workflow.
  • Experience shipping features that required hard tradeoffs, balancing technical constraints, user needs, and business goals.
  • Ability to make clear tradeoff calls and bring engineering and design teams along.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or scaling learning, training, or LMS products, with an understanding of designing for knowledge retention.
  • Background in edtech or workforce enablement, where engagement and completion rates are key metrics.
  • Familiarity with product-led growth motions and how in-product experiences drive adoption and expansion.
  • Previous experience in restaurant-tech, hospitality, or other high-turnover, shift-based industries where simplicity and speed of onboarding are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision and roadmap for the Employee Training product by staying close to restaurant operators, synthesizing customer research, and making clear tradeoff decisions.
  • Make AI capabilities a core part of the product by partnering with Engineering and Design to ship intelligent course creation, personalization, and manager insights.
  • Use AI to accelerate the team's discovery and delivery cycles by building repeatable, AI-led workflows for research synthesis, customer interview analysis, PRD writing, and competitive monitoring.
  • Prototype with AI tools to validate ideas with designers before they become engineering work.
  • Turn ambiguous problems into clear, prioritized work by defining success metrics upfront, tracking outcomes post-launch, and using learnings to drive iteration.
  • Connect the dots across Engineering, Design, Data, and Marketing to ensure products are technically sound, well-positioned, and adopted.
  • Define what success looks like before building, setting metrics, validating hypotheses, and using analytics to guide next steps.
  • Turn customer interviews, competitive research, and real-world problems into simple, scalable solutions, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
