The Senior Product Manager oversees the end-to-end management of assigned products, services, and programs, including features, benefits, and characteristics that meet customer needs and are priced to meet the Bank's profit and loss objectives. This role is accountable for building the value proposition the business wants to deliver and mapping the investments required to achieve it. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for formulating strategy, policy, and the overall direction of the identified product or suite of products portfolio. This role requires a strategic thinker with significant expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas, accountable for major functional areas with mass or niche products/segment suites and high levels of complexity. It generally involves accountability for a significant product management area with enterprise-wide impact. The Senior Product Manager acts as an enterprise or functional expert, requiring broad managerial and deep specialized knowledge at the enterprise, business, regulatory, and industry levels. This role provides advisory services to executives and business segment leaders, governs requirements for their own work, and may lead product programs and projects on behalf of the business. They solve unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact, typically overseeing standards, controls, and operating methods that have significant financial and operational impact within their field. The role involves developing and maintaining a robust understanding of regulatory requirements, customers, markets, and industries to deliver product and process innovation that improves the value proposition. They develop and implement products, policies, and procedures to enhance the end-to-end customer experience (including training, enhancement, and irritant reduction) while achieving business objectives. The Senior Product Manager oversees and ensures the clear and effective delivery of products and services to the customer, acting as a Subject Matter Expert for product-related inquiries. They may lead business plans leveraging Acquisition and Segments teams to increase new account growth and track P&L impact. This role liaises with partners (e.g., Marketing, Phone Channel, Retail) to understand industry and customer trends, analyzes challenges, and identifies opportunities through customer research, focus groups, and external secondary research. They facilitate ideation sessions and build business cases for new product development (NPD), identifying solutions and building stronger plans for growth. The Senior Product Manager builds and maintains effective relationships with sales distribution, key internal stakeholders, and/or external partners to ensure customer needs are considered in strategic decisions and in the development of options, solutions, and alternatives. They lead and facilitate problem-solving sessions with partners and vendors, design end-to-end processes for development, implementation, use, reporting, and feedback on developed products and segments, and direct market research to determine underlying customer needs for input into the development process. They participate in the day-to-day management of the product(s), identifying and implementing product features and enhancements, providing business case support for recommendations, and assisting in the strategic development of new initiatives. The role adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies related to their business area, delivers financial results for the product/product suite through pricing, margin, and volume levers, and creates and delivers business cases to achieve strategic business results (acquisition, retention, customer experience, engagement, and market share). The Senior Product Manager supports Senior Management as a subject matter expert for the product(s) portfolio through presentations (product reviews, planning and forecasting, strategic review sessions). They conduct ongoing industry and competitive analysis to obtain market insights and ensure Acquisition Teams are informed to be competitive. They stay current on emerging trends/developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques. They refine product management strategies through detailed analysis of the P&L, ongoing competitive research, and review of marketing/risk management tactics. They ensure effective product policies and processes are established to support business processes and align with risk appetite. The Senior Product Manager oversees product management deliverables within budget and according to the approved product plan, working with business partners to develop content. They champion the development of the annual business plan and the monthly/quarterly forecast process, contribute to and support partner-led projects, and participate and collaborate on initiatives with internal and external service providers (IT, operations, legal, compliance, marketing, etc.) to ensure the product meets TDBG objectives and standards. They identify and manage risks (market, credit, operational) associated with the product/segment, develop/maintain productive working relationships with distribution channel owners, and are knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and Industry Codes of Conduct. They maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
