About the Role Cloud native Product Managers have end to end responsibility for their products – developing the vision, advocating with internal teams, and communicating to the market. We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual to drive the definition, execution and management of product initiatives across the company. Someone who can relate to the technical & executive audiences & can zoom in and out of detail as needed to communicate effectively. As a Senior Product Manager in the cloud native business, you will drive the product strategy for the cloud native cluster management products in the Cloud native portfolio. Reporting into the Head of Cloud native Product Management, in this role you will:

Requirements

  • Extensive product management experience with infrastructure, DevOps & workload products
  • Technical understanding of enterprise DevOps environments, deployments and use cases.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as DevOps, GitOps, Cluster API, Provisioning
  • Comfortable with deep technical subjects and principals
  • Strong communications, presentation and interpersonal skills, both in physical and virtual settings across oceans and cultures
  • Self-motivated, able to handle ambiguity and work independently and in a team
  • Experience with open-source software development and culture
  • This position is subject to a background check(s), including criminal, credit, and/or employment references. The candidate is required to complete the background check(s) once an offer has been accepted. This will be conducted by SUSE’s external provider, where legally permitted.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, vision, and go to market for our cloud native workload & infrastructure management products
  • Translate market needs into product capabilities and directions & present to key team members including the executive team.
  • Track upstream project roadmaps and ensure the product is aware of relevant updates and features.
  • Evaluate customer and market trends through customer interviews, workload analysis, partnerships, technology innovations, and competitive analysis as part of product planning.
  • Develop detailed understanding of customer use cases and deployment options.
  • Author detailed PR FAQ’s
  • Manage the product lifecycle from product definition to product release.
  • Serve as the product SME with partners, customers and other external audiences
  • Partner with marketing to provide positioning and messaging as well as contribute to GTM enablement.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to Rancher sales teams.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Solutions, Support, Sales and Partner teams on an ongoing basis.
  • Engage with Rancher and cloud native tooling users in online forums, Slack, meetups and conferences.
