•$100,000 - $150,000•Hybrid

About The Position

APPLY is hiring a Senior Product Manager to work embedded with a client on video and advertising products. The role owns operational delivery across two squads while also helping drive product strategy and roadmap decisions. The position involves coordinating with platform teams, engineering, QA, design, client stakeholders, and external technology vendors across video playback, encoding, analytics, casting, and ad insertion. The Product Manager will own product areas end-to-end, from defining problems and discovering opportunities through launch. The role includes developing product specifications, managing backlogs and release readiness, building business cases, defining success metrics, and using industry and product signals to inform direction. The preferred candidate is in the Greater Los Angeles area and must work hours aligned with PST. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence at the client's office at least three days per week.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience on a digital product team.
  • Strong understanding of video streaming technologies, content delivery networks (CDNs), encoding, playback optimization, and digital video advertising.
  • Strong product judgment, including the ability to lead roadmap discussions, identify gaps, and challenge unsuitable direction.
  • Experience coordinating with external technical vendors or partners and holding them accountable to commitments.
  • Clear, precise written communication for tickets, product requirements documents, and updates.
  • Track record of taking products from concept to launch.
  • Curiosity about the business rationale behind product work, not only backlog execution.
  • Ability to work hours aligned with PST.
  • Regular on-site presence at the client's office at least three days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with ad insertion platforms or DAI/SSAI workflows.
  • Experience with video analytics (QoE) or observability platforms such as Mux or Conviva.
  • Ability to analyze product data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including with senior client leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to take products from concept to launch as the directly responsible Product Manager.
  • Familiarity with third-party streaming platforms, analytics tools, and player integrations.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, internationalization, and content rights management.
  • Working knowledge of AI productivity tools, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted research or ticket writing, and LLM tools for synthesis and planning; genuine interest in applying them to PM workflows.
  • Prior consulting or embedded client engagement experience and comfort operating in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operational health of video and ads backlogs, including grooming, ticket hygiene, user stories, sprint tracking, and release readiness across two squads.
  • Coordinate across external vendors for video playback, encoding and pipeline, video analytics and observability, casting and cross-device continuity, and ad insertion; hold vendors accountable and evaluate technical tradeoffs.
  • Translate product direction into well-scoped product specification documents and keep them accurate as work evolves.
  • Own release tracking and delivery reporting, proactively surfacing risks and blockers.
  • Coordinate daily across platform teams, engineering, QA, design, and external partners.
  • Lead roadmap and strategy conversations across Video and Ads, including opportunity identification, initiative sizing, and prioritization.
  • Partner with the Ads Product Director to develop and maintain the ads roadmap and help shape its priorities.
  • Identify product opportunities across streaming and monetization, develop early-stage ideas, and create business cases.
  • Monitor industry trends in streaming media, programmatic advertising, and emerging platforms, and use relevant insights to influence product direction.
  • Build and maintain direct relationships with client stakeholders across product, engineering, ad operations, and business teams.
  • Lead development of user-facing features by gathering requirements, synthesizing feedback, and defining success metrics.
  • Drive initiative discovery through interviews, use-case development, and competitive research.
  • Own product areas end-to-end, from problem definition through launch.

Benefits

  • Generous training budgets and mentorship, with a focus on Agentic AI expertise and human skills.
  • Flexible personal time off (PTO).
  • Customizable extended health and dental plan.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote, in-office, or hybrid options.
  • Modern tools, systems, and approaches, and a focus on employee time, safety, and health.
