Vector Solutions•Tampa, FL
•$130,000 - $150,000

About The Position

The Senior Product Manager owns the technical product definition, roadmap, and release quality of Convergence, Vector Solutions’ cloud-hosted learning management system for the Commercial sector. The role translates customer and market needs into technical requirements for a multi-tier platform with .NET/C# services, a JavaScript front end, AWS and/or Azure cloud hosting, API integrations, mobile applications, and AI-enabled capabilities. The product manager works closely with software engineers, architects, and quality assurance staff to assess design trade-offs, validate delivered software, and address technical issues involving data, integration, AI feature quality, and performance. Convergence serves commercial customers in industries including manufacturing, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and construction. The role therefore requires familiarity with industrial operations, equipment, and safety-critical work, and the ability to define how the platform represents and verifies workforce skills, qualifications, and compliance requirements. The position spans technical requirements and architecture, integrations, AI-enabled features, administrator dashboards and analytics, mobile application planning, quality assurance and release management, product strategy, and go-to-market support. The work uses Agile practices such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, design reviews, user acceptance testing, and staged releases. Travel of up to 15% is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Five or more years of experience as a product manager or in a closely related technical role for B2B SaaS or technology products.
  • Working knowledge of industrial operations in sectors such as manufacturing, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and construction.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts, including APIs, data models, cloud architecture, and software testing, and to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experience working within an Agile product development process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence and work independently.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer needs, usage data, and market gaps; translate them into product requirements, user stories, and testable acceptance criteria for platform services, interfaces, and APIs.
  • Participate in engineering architecture and design reviews, evaluate solution trade-offs, and assess technical feasibility, dependencies, and technical debt when sequencing the roadmap.
  • Specify API and data-integration requirements, including data mapping, integrity rules, error handling, edge cases, and conflicting source data.
  • Define how the platform models industrial workforce structures, roles, equipment- and task-specific qualifications, and recertification cycles.
  • Maintain the technical product roadmap and backlog, including scope, dependencies, and release timelines in coordination with development teams.
  • Define functional and quality requirements for AI-enabled features, including relevance, accuracy, ambiguous-input handling, response times, and fallback behavior.
  • Establish AI output evaluation criteria and acceptance thresholds; analyze test results and determine whether features are ready for release or require redesign.
  • Validate AI-generated content for technical soundness, consistency with the platform data model, and alignment with industrial equipment, process, and safety requirements.
  • Define requirements for a customizable administrator landing experience, including configurable components, role-based views, and workflows that aggregate data from multiple modules.
  • Define product metrics and usage instrumentation; analyze adoption and performance data to assess feature outcomes and prioritize releases.
  • Define mobile application scope and technical requirements, accounting for mobile capabilities, platform constraints, and reuse of existing APIs and services.
  • Coordinate mobile and web release planning to maintain consistent functionality and data across channels.
  • Partner on test plans and acceptance scenarios, conduct user acceptance testing of pre-release builds, and triage defects according to severity and customer impact.
  • Validate releases against documented specifications and determine release readiness with engineering and QA leadership.
  • Conduct competitor, customer, and market analysis in relevant industrial segments; identify trends and opportunities, recommend positioning and pricing, and track product performance against business metrics.
