This team designs, builds, and launches public-facing products for New Yorkers.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.

Responsibilities

  • Lead resident-facing products end-to-end, from problem framing through public launch, owning scope, sequencing, and the call on what ships in version one.
  • Move quickly through discovery, rapid prototyping, MVP iteration, pilot, and launch, making pragmatic tradeoffs between scope, quality, and timing.
  • Plan and run discovery with New Yorkers and agency partners, working with designers and researchers to turn findings into a clear product direction the team can build against.
  • Partners with designers, engineers, user researchers, and other OTI employees on day-to-day product decisions, and own scoping and prioritization for your projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with agency staff, policy advisors, legal counsel, and executive sponsors, translating between policy goals and product decisions in both directions.
  • Coordinate with the wider OTI team on what is needed for production launch, including platforms, performance, security, accessibility, and compliance reviews.
  • Define and measure success. Write clear metrics, instrument products, and report on what worked, what did not, and what the team learned.
  • Drive public launches and rollout. Partner with comms, executive offices, and external partner organizations on announcement plans, briefings, and post-launch traffic.
  • Write clear product briefs, decision memos, and post-launch retros so that institutional knowledge is maintained and the team can continuously improve.
  • Help shape the product culture of a small, mission-driven team, including mentorship, hiring, and onboarding for future product managers.
  • Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.
