Senior Product Manager, Navigator

Gallatin•Washington, DC

About The Position

Gallatin is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the theater tier of Navigator, its sustainment decision-support product for logistics planning and operations at COCOM and MAJCOM level. The role extends Navigator’s tactical and operational capabilities to support theater-wide priorities, constraints, and trade-offs. The Senior Product Manager will own the tier’s roadmap from discovery with theater logistics planners through release and adoption in operational commands, and will be accountable for whether the product improves theater sustainment decisions. The role works directly with COCOM and MAJCOM J4 and A4 staffs, program offices, engineering, design, and Gallatin leadership. The successful candidate will bring business acumen and deep understanding of Department of War organization, planning, acquisition, and software fielding, translating operational realities into product direction. The position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, and the successful candidate must be able to work in a classified environment when necessary. Gallatin builds logistics infrastructure and AI systems for national security missions and allied partners, with applications spanning defense operations and disaster response. The company describes its team as entrepreneurs, operators, and technologists and emphasizes clear thinking, direct communication, and ownership.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in product, with ownership of complex enterprise, defense, logistics, data, or AI products.
  • Track record of shipping major capabilities from discovery through adoption, not just launch.
  • Proficiency using AI in personal work processes and a track record of shipping products that incorporate AI into their delivered capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of the Department of War, including its organization, planning, acquisition, and software fielding.
  • Strong written communication skills, including product briefs, trade-off memos, and narratives that withstand scrutiny.
  • Comfort working directly with senior stakeholders and end users and earning their trust quickly.
  • Bias toward action in an environment where priorities shift as mission and technical context emerges.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in sustainment, supply chain, theater logistics, C2, or other operational decision-support domains.
  • Familiarity with joint planning and sustainment doctrine at echelon, such as TPFDD and ULN structure, classes of supply, and JP 4-0.
  • Experience with AI-enabled products or data platforms.
  • Prior experience inside a COCOM, MAJCOM, or Service staff, or uniformed service.
  • Experience delivering software to government customers in deployed or operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Set priorities for the Navigator theater tier, make trade-offs, and explain and defend decisions to engineering, leadership, and customers.
  • Decide which capabilities to build and which to decline, keeping the tier focused on decisions that matter at COCOM and MAJCOM echelon.
  • Translate the multi-echelon product vision into sequenced bets with clear success metrics.
  • Conduct discovery with COCOM and MAJCOM logistics planners, J4 and Service-4 staff, and program offices, both in garrison and in the field.
  • Synthesize customer research into product direction rather than simply collecting feature requests, and connect decisions to mission outcomes.
  • Stay close to users’ work to distinguish what they request from what they need.
  • Own the product lifecycle from problem statement through release and adoption, partnering with engineering and design through sprint planning, demos, and field feedback.
  • Assess whether shipped capabilities improve mission outcomes and communicate honestly when they do not.
  • Apply understanding of Department of War planning, acquisition, and software fielding to product decisions.
  • Ensure the product fits theater command operations and shorten the distance between an idea and a fielded capability.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience; actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and location.
  • Generous equity grant.
  • Full healthcare coverage.
  • 401k.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Perks of working in a high-caliber, mission-driven environment.
