About The Position
Everand is Scribd's subscription service for ebooks and audiobooks. Fable is a social reading community where millions of people track what they read, build lists, and discuss books. Both products have a strong reader base, and the company is embarking on a journey to enhance their functionality for a wider range of readers. Scribd is seeking a Senior Product Manager to focus on high-impact consumer experiences across both Everand and Fable, with a key objective of helping every reader discover their next favorite book.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product management, specifically working on consumer products at scale.
- Experience with native mobile apps and subscriptions is a plus.
- A proven ability to transform major pain points into product strategy and define a clear roadmap for your area.
- Proficiency in collaborating with engineers and data scientists on experiences that utilize Machine Learning, such as recommendations, search, and ranking systems.
- Strong command of both quantitative (e.g., A/B testing, data analytics) and qualitative (e.g., user testing, interviews) research methods.
- A keen product sense and an eye for creating effortless and delightful consumer experiences.
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, including clear writing and effective prioritization.
- A passion for books and reading.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, vision, and roadmap for a squad, working across Everand and Fable.
- Lead a cross-functional squad, collaborating with engineering, design, research, and data teams to implement the roadmap and ship features.
- Balance significant strategic investments with continuous experimentation to improve key engagement metrics.
- Utilize both qualitative and quantitative data from cross-functional partners to inform decision-making.
- Partner closely with data science and engineering on recommendation, ranking, and search systems, making product trade-offs related to relevance and quality.
- Create user experiences that integrate joyful design, editorial insights, and algorithmic capabilities to assist readers in discovering new books.
