Senior Product Manager

ChewyBoston, MA
$141,000 - $225,000Hybrid

About The Position

Our Opportunity: Chewy is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Educational Media team, to define and execute the product strategy for our Educational Media content ecosystem—including internal publishing and AI workflows (CMS), monetization tooling (Ad Tech), and customer-facing content experiences—with our team based in Boston, Ma or Plantation, Fl. Offices. As a Senior Product Manager, you will be the focal point and delivery owner—leading discovery/definition, requirements, release readiness, and testing/UAT—to create and continuously improve scalable products and capabilities that power both internal teams and customer-facing experiences. As a product manager, you will develop and own the product features/enhancements roadmap + generate/own ideas for new capabilities/expansion opportunities while ensuring we continue to raise the bar for our customers. You must be customer-focused: to understand customers’ pain points, gather feedback and translate into product requirements, prioritize feature implementations, and the overall experience for the end users (including internal & external users and as well as senior leadership).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant, post Bachelor’s experience in: Product Management, eCommerce, Technology, Digital Media/Content Platforms, Advertising/Monetization tooling, Analytics, Consulting, or related field.
  • Ability to drive strategies to completion, including making directional product decisions—not only executing delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive BRDs/PRDs that translate into shovel-ready engineering work (clear scope, acceptance criteria, and testability).
  • Experience leading effective UAT and release readiness, including supporting go/no-go decisions.
  • Ability to lead, be nimble, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and situational fluency; ability to influence, document decisions, and make trade-offs at all levels of management.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to think through complex systems and collaborate deeply with engineering (medium at minimum; higher is a plus).
  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization without future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Position may require travel.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an owner on Day 1, owning the end-to-end customer journey and product roadmap supporting the Educational Media team.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to bring the Chewy experience to life by placing the customer’s needs first and creating a best in class experience for pet parents everywhere—while also improving the internal tooling that enables that experience.
  • Rapidly build domain context across our products and tools, make timely decisions with documented rationale, have immediate visibility to senior leadership, and drive your ideas forward through shipped outcomes.
  • Understand the key features and functionality across the Educational Media ecosystem (CMS workflows, Ad Tech/monetization tooling, AI automations, and customer-facing content components) and identify opportunities for optimization, new feature development, and innovation.
  • Utilize data to understand customer behavior/needs as well as business objectives; enable the team to transform that knowledge into product enhancements and new features.
  • Translate Operating Plan goals into clear, prioritized epics/stories and delivery plans that result in shipped work.
  • Write detailed requirements and use cases/user stories and communicate them effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Create clear product requirements (e.g., JIRA epics and user stories with acceptance criteria) and maintain Confluence documentation as a source of truth.
  • Collaborate closely with UX Design team on primary/customer research, ensuring new features meet customer and business needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, product owners, and program managers to share the product properties and work closely with the Scrum Master/SDM on the product backlog prioritization to ensure incremental delivery of features.
  • Own UAT planning and execution; coordinate validation across stakeholders and support go/no-go decisions in partnership with the AD, Product Management and SDM.
  • Help define and analyze measures of success (KPIs) for new features and enhancements; transform these customer and business insights into clear requirements for product enhancements and new features.
  • Partner with analytics and product resources to assist with analysis needed to create business cases for new opportunities and to make data-informed directional product decisions.
  • Provide weekly (or release-driven) release/wins inputs that feed team email updates; keep JIRA and Confluence current.
  • Use Agile methodologies to deliver and iterate on new features at a fast pace.
