Senior Product Manager - Special Projects

TremendousNew York, NY
$250,000 - $325,000Remote

About The Position

Tremendous is a profitable and growing company that provides a global platform for businesses to send payouts. The company operates with a fully remote, high-documentation, low-meeting culture. This specific role focuses on owning new product areas and special projects rather than managing a dedicated squad. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for researching, defining roadmaps, and creating detailed specifications for potential new product initiatives. They will handle projects that are too small for a full team, drive them end-to-end, and potentially build and lead new squads if the opportunity warrants it. The role involves significant autonomy, strategic decision-making, and influencing the future direction of the product organization.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building and shipping web applications as a designer, engineer, or product manager at tech companies.
  • At least 2 years of experience taking new products from zero to one.
  • Comfortable being the sole person accountable for an initiative without an existing team.
  • Comfortable owning a portfolio of projects rather than a single product.
  • Proven ability to turn ambiguous opportunities into prioritized, shovel-ready roadmaps.
  • Strong product intuition, design judgment, and technical fluency.
  • Excellent written communication skills for creating persuasive briefs and decision memos.

Nice To Haves

  • Founder, founding PM, or first-product-hire experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own new product areas before they have a team, developing a thesis, conducting research, sizing opportunities, and making recommendations (spin up a squad, build it lean, hand it off, or kill it).
  • Turn research into shovel-ready work, producing briefs, prototypes, and specs for immediate development.
  • Utilize AI agents to analyze customer tickets, sales calls, usage data, and competitor research.
  • Ship clickable prototypes rapidly to test ideas with customers.
  • Drive projects that don't require a full squad end-to-end with engineers from existing squads.
  • Potentially cover a squad temporarily if it lacks a PM, with the portfolio taking precedence.
  • Work asynchronously, with a focus on written communication for product development.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay and equity
  • Base salary: $250,000 to $325,000
  • 100% covered health (US)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 12-16 weeks paid parental leave
