As the Senior Product Manager for Payments, you will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and execution of a critical component of Engine's business: enabling seamless payments acceptance and issuing capabilities. This role is at the forefront of fintech innovation and customer experience, impacting customer acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization. You will collaborate with engineering, design, partnerships, and go-to-market teams to enhance and expand our existing payments platform.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in product management, with significant experience in technical or platform products.
  • Proven track record of owning complex backend systems end-to-end and shipping products relied upon by other teams and customers.
  • Comfortable engaging deeply with engineering on architecture, tradeoffs, and system design.
  • Ability to translate ambiguity into a clear and actionable plan.
  • Experience building cross-functional systems from scratch and scaling them with a long-term perspective.
  • Ability to strategize at a high level and execute at a detailed level with equal proficiency.
  • A strong focus on the end customer, understanding how infrastructure decisions impact customer experience.
  • Daily use of AI tools and a clear perspective on their impact on product teams and payments.
  • Experience shipping AI-powered features or workflows, distinguishing real value from hype.
  • A hands-on, collaborative builder mindset, eager to contribute to scaling one of Engine's key platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in payments, credit cards, or fintech.
  • Hands-on exposure to payment acceptance, card issuing, or related systems such as authorization, settlement, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for a suite of payments and fintech products, including payment acceptance, card issuing, and the financial infrastructure that underpins customer transactions on Engine.
  • Expand Engine's payments capabilities by integrating new payment methods, card programs, and financial partners, balancing long-term platform investments with near-term customer and revenue objectives.
  • Partner closely with Business Development and other Product leaders to shape and secure partnerships that significantly enhance Engine's payments ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in design, engineering, marketing, CX, and sales to bring initiatives to life from ideation through post-launch, setting high standards for product delivery.
  • Elevate the use of AI within the Payments domain, both in daily work processes and by building AI-native experiences into the product to improve how customers pay, get paid, and manage spend.
  • Represent the Payments domain in executive discussions, cross-functional forums, and customer deep dives, ensuring clear communication about Payments' objectives and progress.
