About The Position

Kraken is seeking an experienced Product Manager to join their growing Payments & Blockchain team. This role will focus on improving access to the platform across global markets by owning a portfolio of payment rails, influencing customer payment methods, and ensuring efficient scaling of these flows. The Payments & Blockchain team is responsible for all money movement in and out of Kraken. The Product Manager will drive initiatives to enable best-in-class local payments, increase success rates, reduce user journey friction, and adapt payment infrastructure for diverse user needs, from retail customers to institutional partners. This role involves leading cross-functional efforts in backend integrations, partner onboarding, frontend UX, and compliance-sensitive flows.

Requirements

5-7+ years of product management experience, with a focus on payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure, ideally from a high-growth fintech or technology business with payments at its core.
Deep domain expertise in payment systems and rails, including bank transfers, card networks, and/or alternative payment methods, with experience in emerging or high-growth markets a strong plus.
Direct experience with payment rails in emerging or high-growth markets (e.g. UPI, IMPS, IPI/FTS, local card schemes, or regional Open Banking frameworks).
Experience working with third-party payment providers and API integrations end-to-end, from partner selection and due diligence through to integration and go-live.
Experience working on both backend systems (e.g. payment orchestration, API integrations) and user-facing features.
A strong customer-centric mindset, with a focus on simplicity, trust, and conversion in payment flows.
Collaborative and effective across engineering, design, fraud, compliance, and operations.
Comfortable working with data to define and measure product impact.
Strong prioritization discipline and comfort managing multiple parallel workstreams in a fast-moving, vendor-dependent environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience working within or alongside a crypto or digital assets business.
Familiarity with neobank infrastructure, platform models, or B2B payments orchestration.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve a set of payment rails across specific methods and geographic regions, with a focus on high-growth and emerging markets.
Lead partner integrations and manage relationships with payment processors, acquirers, and banking partners.
Drive continuous improvement of authorization rates, settlement speed, and overall user conversion.
Collaborate with fraud and compliance teams to ensure payment flows meet security, regulatory, and operational standards.
Drive UX enhancements through structured experimentation and customer insights.
Ensure payment capabilities are scalable and adaptable across consumer and pro trading apps, the Kraken app, and external interfaces such as on/off-ramps.
Use data to inform prioritization, track performance, and iterate toward better outcomes.
