Senior Product Manager: New Verticals

Broccoli AISan Francisco, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Broccoli AI is building the AI operating system for home service businesses, working with plumbing, HVAC, and electrical contractors to replace fragmented tools and manual workflows with AI agents that handle tasks like answering phones, booking jobs, and following up with customers. The company has experienced rapid growth, serving hundreds of contractors and achieving millions in ARR within its first year, supported by significant funding from investors like Khosla Ventures and Y Combinator. This role is crucial for Broccoli's expansion into new markets. The Senior Product Manager for New Verticals will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new opportunities within the broader home services sector, which includes dozens of adjacent verticals facing similar operational challenges. The position requires a deep understanding of customer operations, market dynamics, and the potential of AI to drive significant P&L impact. The role sits at the intersection of product management, market research, strategy, and execution, working closely with founders, engineering, sales, and customer success teams.

Requirements

  • Deep customer curiosity and a desire to understand how businesses operate, including workflows, incentives, edge cases, economics, and operational reality.
  • Strong market judgment to evaluate opportunities from first principles.
  • High agency: ability to bring structure to ambiguity, move proactively, and own outcomes end-to-end.
  • Strong business judgment, with the ability to prioritize based on customer impact, strategic advantage, speed to market, and long-term expansion potential.
  • AI-first product thinking, defaulting to exploring AI possibilities rather than just replicating traditional SaaS solutions.
  • Experience building agents, AI-powered workflows, or AI-native product experiences.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate messy research into sharp strategy documents, specifications, launch briefs, and founder-ready recommendations.
  • Willingness to work in-office five days a week for close collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Former founder, or a PM who has operated like one.
  • Experience expanding into new markets, segments, or verticals.
  • Experience at a high-growth B2B startup, especially Series A to C.
  • Home services, field service, vertical SaaS, or service operations experience.
  • Experience with sales-led or design-partner-led product development.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new home service and field service categories for Broccoli's expansion.
  • Build a clear understanding of customer pain points, market size, workflow complexity, competitive landscape, integration needs, and go-to-market feasibility for new verticals.
  • Conduct market research through customer interviews, workflow shadowing, transcript analysis, and product data analysis.
  • Synthesize messy research into clear product and strategy recommendations.
  • Compare and prioritize verticals and product wedges based on urgency of pain, willingness to pay, AI feasibility, implementation complexity, sales motion, and potential customer P&L impact.
  • Translate research into crisp product direction, writing specifications, defining initial product wedges, and creating basic mockups when necessary.
  • Work with sales and customer success to identify early customers for new verticals and build tight feedback loops.
  • Coordinate with sales, customer success, and marketing for new vertical product launches.
  • Define success metrics, track outcomes, and drive post-launch learning and iteration.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to shape the future of a rapidly growing AI company.
  • High-impact role with significant ownership.
  • Close collaboration with founders and a talented team.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits (implied by startup environment and funding).
