About The Position

At NerdWallet, we’re on a mission to bring clarity to all of life’s financial decisions and every great mission needs a team of exceptional Nerds. We’ve built an inclusive, flexible, and candid culture where you’re empowered to grow, take smart risks, and be unapologetically yourself (cape optional). Whether remote or in-office, we support how you thrive best. We invest in your well-being, development, and ability to make an impact because when one Nerd levels up, we all do. The Senior Product Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the optimization of growth funnels and data-driven user experiences within our Consumer Lending vertical. This role is specifically focused on scaling our paid and organic acquisition loops and maximizing funnel conversion for our Mortgage and Personal Loan products. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in performance marketing, digital funnels, and consumer finance, working collaboratively to execute strategies that bridge the gap between marketing spend and product engagement. This is a high-impact role for a PM who thrives on hands-on execution and data-driven experimentation. Rather than managing the entire vertical end-to-end, you will focus on developing and executing product roadmaps that optimize the performance marketing engine and landing page experiences. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Data Science, and Performance Marketing to ensure our technical roadmap fuels top-line lending growth. By partnering with our in-house mortgage brokerage and third-party lenders, you will ensure a seamless hand-off from click to funded loan, continuously monitoring performance metrics to ruthlessly optimize for user conversion and business efficiency. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Engineering. Projects you may be working on in this position include: Dynamic Landing Page Engines: Developing data-driven, personalized landing pages that automatically adjust based on a user’s credit/financial profile or search intent. Digital Mortgage Application: Partnering with our in-house brokerage to build a seamless, self-service digital application flow that allows users to move from "searching" to "submitted" with minimal human intervention. Paid Funnel Efficiency: Collaborating with the Performance Marketing team to build "experiment-first" funnels that lower CAC through rapid UI/UX iteration.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, specifically focused on conversion rate optimization, ecommerce funnels, or performance marketing—ideally within fintech, lending, or mortgage sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing high-traffic web experiences, with a deep understanding of how to bridge SEO and Paid Acquisition strategies with product-led growth.
  • Demonstrated success in launching complex product initiatives that move the needle on core business KPIs like CAC, LTV, and Conversion Rate.
  • Data-First Mindset: Expert-level experience with A/B testing frameworks, user research, and behavioral analytics (e.g., Amplitude, Tableau, Google Analytics, or similar) to drive iterative product improvements.
  • Engineering Partnership: Highly comfortable working with engineering teams to define API integrations, technical workflows, and data orchestration between front-end experiences and back-end CRMs.
  • TODO: SQL, snowflake
  • Exceptional ability to "connect the dots" across Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing, translating complex technical constraints into clear business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to drive alignment and execution across cross-functional teams without direct authority, particularly in a fast-paced, candid environment.
  • A passionate defender of the user experience who can balance empathy for the consumer with the commercial needs of a high-growth lending business.

Responsibilities

  • Growth Integration: Partner with Marketing and SEO to ensure our product experience is deeply aligned with acquisition strategies, maximizing the value of every website visitor..
  • Bridge Business & Tech: Act as the primary connective tissue between Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing to ensure our technical architecture supports complex growth logic.
  • End-to-End Optimization: Own the digital-to-human handoff strategy, ensuring a seamless journey from a user's initial search to final loan fulfillment.
  • LTV & Re-engagement Strategy: Build product experiences that maximize user lifetime value by intelligently re-engaging users through personalized "next-best-action" features and lifecycle triggers.
