About The Position

NRG-owned Vivint Smart Home is seeking a Senior Product Manager II to own the customer experience for security detection and deterrence across the Vivint app and in-home displays. The role focuses on how customers see, understand, and act on camera and system detections, and how the system discourages unwanted activity in the moment. It translates computer vision and deterrence capabilities into clear, reliable experiences across live video, playback, clips, alerts, lights, sirens, audio, two-way communication, and monitoring workflows. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with engineering, design, AI, camera hardware, monitoring operations, customer care, marketing, and pricing teams. The role identifies where customers lose confidence in threat detection and prevention, and delivers improvements that make security experiences more accurate, useful, and trustworthy. The position may be based in Seattle, Washington, or Lehi, Utah.

Requirements

  • Five years of product management experience.
  • Meaningful experience shipping consumer hardware-plus-software, IoT, video, or security products.
  • Experience working on video software, computer vision, AI-enabled experiences, live streaming, playback, clips, or event timelines.
  • A track record of partnering with technical teams to make complex capabilities understandable and valuable to customers.
  • Strong product judgment concerning trust, privacy, safety, and customer control in the home.
  • Ability to use data, customer insights, and operational feedback to size problems, prioritize tradeoffs, and measure results.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to align senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-native product development tools across the product lifecycle, including agent-led discovery, rapid prototyping, lightweight code generation, design exploration, and collaboration with engineering to validate what should be built.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own how camera detections appear across live video, playback, clips, event timelines, and alert surfaces.
  • Partner with AI and computer vision teams to establish quality standards, prioritize improvements, and determine when capabilities are ready for customers.
  • Design experiences for uncertain or incorrect detections that help customers understand what happened and maintain trust in the system.
  • Shape how detections become alerts, deterrent actions, or alarms while balancing customer control with security outcomes.
  • Improve deterrence experiences involving lights, sirens, audio, and two-way communication.
  • Partner with monitoring operations to understand how event information supports alarm verification and response.
  • Write clear requirements, lead discovery, align stakeholders, and ship on a predictable cadence with engineering, design, and QA.
  • Partner with marketing and pricing teams to develop go-to-market plans for new detection and deterrence experiences.
  • Set and report on metrics including feature adoption, detection quality, alert engagement, deterrence effectiveness, and customer trust.
