About The Position

This role sits squarely within Vertiv’s racks business, with a primary focus on hyperscale and OEM customers. These customers demand purpose-built, repeatable, and scalable rack solutions—not generic products. This position exists to drive growth by deeply understanding customer-specific requirements, translating them into differentiated rack platforms, and shaping the portfolio to win at scale. You will own the go-to-market and portfolio evolution for rack solutions targeted at hyperscalers and strategic OEMs, operating at the intersection of customer engagement, product strategy, and execution. You will work directly with product management, engineering, manufacturing, and sales to create rack solutions optimized for customer architectures, deployment models, and operational realities. This is a high-impact role with direct influence over what products we build, how we position them, and where we invest to capture share in the fastest-growing segment of the data center market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management, business development, or technical sales within data center infrastructure, with direct exposure to racks, enclosures, or integrated IT systems.

  • Strong ability to translate customer requirements into product strategy and executable roadmaps.
  • Proven track record of cross-functional leadership across engineering, manufacturing, and sales.
  • Executive-level communication skills, with confidence engaging technical stakeholders and senior customer leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with rack design platforms, custom/semi-custom racks, or large-scale rack programs.
  • Familiarity with hyperscale sourcing models, AVL/RVL processes, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Experience supporting AI, high-density, or liquid-cooled rack architectures.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for Vertiv’s racks business focused on hyperscale and OEM customers, with clear revenue objectives, product priorities, and execution milestones.
  • Identify customer-specific opportunities where tailored rack designs, platforms, or configurations unlock incremental business and long-term programs.
  • Build compelling business cases for custom and semi-custom rack platforms that balance customer requirements, scalability, and profitability.
  • Engage directly with hyperscale and OEM customers to understand rack-level requirements including mechanical design, form factor, integration, thermal strategy, cable management, material flow, and deployment constraints.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to product management and engineering—translating real-world requirements into clear product definitions, roadmap inputs, and platform strategies.
  • Shape reusable rack architectures and feature sets that enable customer-specific solutions while maintaining manufacturing efficiency and speed to market.
  • Partner with Global Strategic Accounts, OEM sales teams, and regional sales leadership to develop account-specific rack strategies and pursue large-scale programs.
  • Support complex customer engagements by positioning Vertiv’s rack capabilities as a strategic enabler—not a commodity—within broader infrastructure solutions.
  • Enable sales teams with clear messaging on rack differentiation, hyperscale-ready capabilities, and value propositions tied to customer outcomes.
  • Maintain deep expertise in the hyperscale and OEM rack landscape, including competitive offerings, sourcing models, customer design philosophies, and emerging requirements.
  • Analyze wins, losses, and customer feedback to continuously refine rack platforms, features, and commercial approaches.
  • Monitor trends related to AI, high-density computing, liquid cooling integration, and global deployment models as they impact rack design and demand.
