Senior Product Manager, Growth

Spellbook
CA$150,000 - CA$190,000Remote

About The Position

Spellbook is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join their Growth product team. This role will own the product strategy for growth, encompassing acquisition, activation, monetization, and retention. The position involves close collaboration with engineering, design, marketing, and data teams to drive key metrics. The ideal candidate will possess a rigorous, experimental mindset and be adept at identifying leverage points within the customer funnel. The company is a well-funded legal tech startup backed by prominent investors, having recently secured $50 million in Series B funding.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a dedicated growth, lifecycle, or monetization role.
  • Demonstrated track record of moving growth metrics — acquisition, activation, conversion, or retention — through product-led experimentation.
  • Strong quantitative skills; comfortable with funnel analysis, cohort analysis, statistical significance, and tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar.
  • Experience designing and running A/B tests end-to-end, including hypothesis formation, instrumentation, analysis, and rollout decisions.
  • Deep understanding of PLG (product-led growth) motions and how to design self-serve experiences that reduce friction and accelerate time-to-value.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align marketing, sales, and product around a shared growth narrative.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and lead in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with AI-powered products, particularly optimizing onboarding or activation for technically novel tools.
  • Familiarity with legaltech, compliance, or B2B SaaS industries where the buyer and end user are often different people.
  • Experience with pricing and packaging strategy, including freemium, trial, or seat-based monetization models.
  • Background in growth engineering, data science, or marketing — having worn more than one hat is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the growth product strategy and roadmap, with clear ownership over top-of-funnel, activation, conversion, and retention metrics.
  • Design, run, and analyze A/B and multivariate experiments across the product to identify high-impact growth levers and rapidly iterate on findings.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design to build and optimize growth-oriented product surfaces — including onboarding flows, in-product upsell and upgrade moments, referral mechanics, and pricing page experiences.
  • Partner closely with marketing, revenue operations, and sales to align on the full customer journey, from first touch to paid conversion and expansion.
  • Develop a deep understanding of user behavior through quantitative analysis and qualitative research, and use those insights to prioritize the growth roadmap.
  • Own growth metrics including signups, activation rate, trial-to-paid conversion, time-to-value, and net revenue retention, and report on progress regularly to leadership.
  • Build and maintain a healthy experimentation pipeline, balancing quick wins with longer-term bets that compound over time.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

  • Company-paid group benefits for you and your family
  • $1,000 towards mental health support
  • Holiday closure
  • Generous time off policies
  • Monthly paid meals
  • Annual wellness allowance
  • Parental leave top-ups
