Senior Product Manager, Devices

Miovision,
CA$180,000 - CA$200,000Remote

About The Position

At Miovision, we are engineering the future of smart transportation, and to keep our physical infrastructure moving at highway speeds, we need a highly strategic Senior Product Manager to drive a critical segment of our hardware business. Reporting directly to the Product Director of Hardware, you will be the ultimate traffic controller for our physical product portfolio. We need a visionary who can expertly navigate the complex intersections of ambiguous market signals, engineering realities, and evolving field conditions. You will be the driving force that shifts our physical products from discrete sensing components into a fully connected, intelligent device platform. If you are ready to steer our hardware roadmap out of gridlock, build rugged devices that survive the wildest environments, and merge our physical technology seamlessly with our software ecosystem, green means go!

Requirements

  • Advanced product management experience, thriving in autonomy and ambiguity.
  • Comfortably manage "up and sideways," and know exactly how to say "no" strategically to protect your team’s focus and critical business needs.
  • Look beyond individual features to understand how sensors, edge compute, firmware, and cloud software form one cohesive product experience. Ensure that hardware decisions never constrain software evolution.
  • Proven track record of designing products for rugged, outdoor, or industrial environments. Deeply understand the trade-offs around environmental ratings, physical UI, installation UX, and hardware longevity.
  • Always start with the user and work backwards. Build continuous discovery loops to deeply understand pain points and validate assumptions with multi-modal data long before committing engineering resources.
  • Possess razor-sharp business acumen. Deeply understand financial levers like COGS and margins, and know exactly how hardware unit economics tie into broader engineering and corporate sales goals.
  • Understand the unique complexities of how government agencies, municipalities, and enterprise buyers evaluate and procure infrastructure hardware, successfully maneuvering through long sales cycles and tight procurement constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Take full accountability for the success and adoption metrics of our hardware products, defining exactly how they integrate into the broader hardware-software ecosystem.
  • Predict 1–3 year technology shifts, initiate de-risking projects, and distill complex market dynamics into a clear "North Star" for your portfolio.
  • Design field-ready, software-extensible platforms—not just point solutions—that proactively account for ruggedization, long refresh cycles, and frictionless installation.
  • Build high-conviction business cases and manage the entire hardware lifecycle from concept and development through to launch and end-of-life.
  • Establish a permanent rhythm of internal and external discovery to validate risky assumptions early and identify emerging opportunities in edge AI, compute, and sensing.
  • Drive major architecture and platform investments, grounding decisions in performance constraints, supply chain exposure, industry standards, and strict P&L goals.
  • Successfully align Engineering, Operations, and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams on unified release plans, expertly managing the complex interface between agile software and waterfall hardware development.
  • Actively engage with industry standards bodies and working groups to stay ahead of regulatory requirements and represent our device platform strategy externally.
