Senior Product Manager, AI Agents & Automation
About The Position
Jerry.ai is a profitable, Series C, YC-backed tech startup with 5M+ customers and $240M in funding, seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of its next-generation AI system for insurance automation. The company is expanding beyond car insurance into new verticals and aims to grow from 5M to 50M customers by 2030. This role will focus on the AI & Automation team, which owns the critical automation of the insurance quoting experience and complex transactions with external insurance provider systems. The current system, which handles 60% of policy sales automatically and resolves 78% of customer inquiries via AI, needs to evolve to support new use cases and leverage emerging AI models. The product manager will be responsible for the AI agents and automation system, including the agentic/conversational front end and backend workflow automation, and will evaluate and implement new AI technologies, partnering with OpenAI.
Requirements
- 5+ years owning product strategy and execution for a technical product, ideally at an early-stage startup, where you worked hands-on enough with engineering to make technical tradeoff calls.
- Made a call between two valid technical approaches based on business impact, not just technical elegance, and can reason through why.
- Tinkered with a new model within days of its release, and can explain why one architecture or approach is superior to another.
- Experience putting LLM-based systems into production, including evals, regressions, latency, cost, and failure-handling.
- Familiarity with the tech stack: TypeScript (Nest.js, React), GraphQL, AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda), LLM models (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini).
Responsibilities
- Own our AI agents and automation system, which has two components: Agentic/conversational front end (chatbot, voicebot, computer-use agents) and backend workflow automation (document validation, record disputes, transaction orchestration with external carrier systems).
- Shape what the prompt engineering team builds next and keep the architecture sound as it scales.
- Build new automations for document validation (e.g., licenses, proof of insurance), record disputes, and transaction orchestration with external carrier systems.
- Evaluate emerging AI technology (voicebot, computer use agents, and beyond), make the call on what we invest in next, build and ship to production.
- Partner with OpenAI to evaluate and deploy next-generation voice models and workflow automation.
