About The Position

The Senior Product Manager, 5G Advanced Network Solutions (ANS) for Government is a visionary, strategist, analyst, customer evangelist, respected leader of execution, and professional relationship builder. This role is accountable for T-Mobile's internal and external products, platforms, services, and experiences. The Senior Product Manager will identify the intersection of customer problems/unmet needs, technical feasibility, and business objectives, secure funding, and lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver against opportunities. This role will champion customer solutions leveraging T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G Stand Alone network, selecting and testing solutions that resolve customer challenges. The team leverages advanced 5G technologies like Network Slicing, Local Breakout, and Private 5G Networks. The Senior Product Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with customers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders such as Network Engineering, Information Technology, Customer Care, and Marketing. This role will drive executive relationships through extensive knowledge and industry solutions, including determining go-to-market and partnership collaboration strategies. This role is suited for a candidate with deep customer empathy, strategic thinking, commercial, analytical, and leadership prowess to deliver differentiated products that drive growth and positively impact customers' lives. Day-to-day activities include conducting market research, generating product requirements, defining specifications, determining long-term strategy, creating product roadmaps, supporting process improvement and technical delivery, defining scope for releases, partnering with development and marketing, and supporting go-to-market activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • 7+ years of relevant Product Management experience.
  • Advanced level understanding of customer experience.
  • Experience launching products in the Government / Public Safety segment
  • Product Lifecycle Management
  • Experience in delivering large and complex business/technology initiatives. (Required)
  • Communication: Proven ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Leadership, while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence. (Required)
  • Proven success in directing matrixed resources and delivering software, with Agile Scrum methodologies and other commonly used tools, across multiple teams. (Required)
  • Technical Writing: Strong requirements elicitation, and proven writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences. (Required)
  • Business Analytics: Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify/analyze/synthesize product use data and use the data to drive decisions. (Required)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Owns product end to end for complex or cross-platform solutions for products of the highest level of complexity and scope, or family of products.
  • Creates, manages, maintains, and communicates product vision and roadmap.
  • Identifies target customer(s) for existing or future products, and designs and drives end-user product research.
  • Partners with business, internal/external stakeholders and Leadership to understand current customer experiences and identifies areas of opportunity.
  • Conducts analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify product innovation opportunities or root causes of issues and assess opportunity size and impact.
  • Conducts cost-benefit / ROI / NPV analysis, and competitive product analysis to support decision making.
  • Works with stakeholders and follows enterprise process to secure and maintain product funding.
  • Anticipates industry trends, direction, and innovation, analyzes potential impacts or opportunities to the customer/product, and incorporates analyses into the product process.
  • Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at VP level and below, including regularly delivering product presentations.
  • Drives specific ad hoc analysis and presents information to executive-level management on request.
  • Influences product feature set and positioning strategies to improve customer experience and drive or support growth.
  • Works with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
  • Maintains current understanding of tech trends and assesses how trends impact the roadmap or create opportunities for innovation.
  • Leverages customer insights for product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
  • Dedicates time to customers, actively meeting with them to build deeper empathy and understand their needs and priorities.
  • Creates, manages, and fosters an active Voice of Customer (VOC) feed for themselves and the team.
  • Actively looks for opportunities to delight or meet customers’ unmet needs.
  • Evangelizes and advocates for the customer internally (IC through C-level) and externally, perpetuating the customer-first mindset.

  • Tests ideas with real customers to ensure that the product delivers the desired benefit.
  • Translates product/platform strategy by writing detailed requirements and creating required documentation and artifacts.
  • Owns and manages product backlog and priorities with business and technology partners.
  • Scopes and ensures alignment on the prioritization of activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Collaborates with Architecture and Dev teams to ensure technical debt and long-term technical investment is factored into the roadmap.
  • Ensures existing production defects are factored into regular backlog prioritization for resolution based on priority.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and Dev/Execution teams to create and communicate anticipated release schedule.
  • Generates and maintains dashboards and reports that track product health and success metrics.
  • Conducts Product Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s) and Steering meetings.
  • Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.
  • Collaborates with advertising and public relations to promote products.
  • Supports sales, marketing, and other stakeholder teams with necessary product knowledge and additional documentation.
  • Assists with the overall execution relating to all aspects of the software development process, from defining the strategy and architecture through deployment and support.
  • Recognizes and communicates technical challenges to stakeholders and makes educated trade-off decisions with the team.
  • Accountable for product quality and performance in the production environment.
  • Accountable for product team response in the event of a critical or high-impacting defect, including communications to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Manages development of adoption tools and training materials.
  • Identifies execution, operational, and organizational issues that impede product success.
  • Drives improvement plans to change or resolve issues (within sphere of influence).
  • Collaborates and develops positive working relationships with many teams, including sales, commercial accounting, marketing, legal, go-to-market, and finance.
  • Works with outside partners and other third parties.
  • Develops positive working relationships with Customer groups or Customer Representatives.
  • Maintains professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
