Senior Product Developer
About The Position
The Product Development organization drives SharkNinja’s global product roadmap from concept to shelf, with a focus on consumer satisfaction and business results. The Senior Product Developer supports development of successful and profitable programs for key Shark products and manages the day-to-day business and enhancement of assigned product lines. The role drives product improvements and optimizations, conducts user research, and partners cross-functionally to roll out enhancements that sustain a 5-star consumer experience. The role defines and iterates product specifications by aligning consumer needs, market opportunities, and product technologies. It owns assigned categories’ sales performance, analyzes competitive products, and shares consumer and market insights with teams developing next-generation products. The Senior Product Developer also partners with Testing and Quality teams on quality and performance testing procedures and serves as a product expert for cross-functional colleagues.
Requirements
- 4–5+ years of experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or a combination of these areas.
- Consumer-first perspective when introducing products or processes and improving existing products.
- Ability to build relationships across multifunctional teams and strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentations, email, concise problem-solving conversations, and presentations to all levels of management.
- Strong project management skills, including prioritization, organization, and management of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment.
- Ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities, learn from decisions, and focus on the path forward.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field at a consumer goods company is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day business activities and enhancements for assigned Shark product lines.
- Drive product improvements and optimizations, conduct user research, and coordinate product-enhancement rollouts with cross-functional partners.
- Define, develop, and iterate product specifications by combining consumer needs, market opportunities, and product technologies.
- Own assigned category sales performance and work with colleagues to identify successful and unsuccessful products and recommend new product opportunities.
- Lead competitive product analyses and share insights on SharkNinja’s competitive position and opportunities for improvement.
- Share consumer and market insights from legacy product lines with New Product Development teams to inform next-generation products.
- Partner with Testing and Quality organizations to define, develop, and manage quality and performance testing procedures.
- Serve as the product expert for cross-functional team questions and concerns.
