About The Position

The Product Developer is part of SharkNinja’s Product Development organization, which drives the global product roadmap from concept to shelf with a consumer-focused approach. This role supports the Ninja business by developing successful, profitable programs and managing and enhancing assigned Shark product lines. The Product Developer drives product improvements and optimizations, conducts user research, and collaborates with Engineers, Marketers, and other teams to deliver a continued 5-star consumer experience. The role defines and iterates product specifications based on consumer needs, market opportunities, and product technologies; takes ownership of category sales performance; and conducts competitive analysis to identify opportunities and recommend improvements. The Product Developer also represents the voice of legacy product lines, shares consumer and market insights with teams developing new products, partners with Testing and Quality on product testing procedures, and serves as a product expert for cross-functional partners.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or a combination of these fields.
Consumer-first perspective when introducing new products or processes or improving current products.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across multifunctional teams.
Highly effective written and face-to-face communication skills, including presenting to all levels of management and hosting concise, effective problem-solving conversations.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment.
Ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities, learn from decisions, and focus on the path forward.

Nice To Haves

Experience at a consumer goods company.
Passion for hair care or the beauty realm.
Formal experience in the beauty or haircare product space, such as hair tools or cosmetics tools.

Responsibilities

Support development of successful and profitable programs for key products to ensure continued growth of the product portfolio.
Manage and enhance assigned product lines, including driving product improvements and optimizations, conducting user research, and collaborating with Engineers, Marketers, and other teams to roll out enhancements.
Define, develop, and iterate product specifications that combine consumer wants and needs, market opportunities, and product technologies.
Own the sales performance of assigned categories and work with company partners to assess product performance and recommend opportunities to fill gaps.
Lead competitive product analyses and provide business partners with insight into how Shark products compare with competitors and how they can improve.
Share consumer and market insights and learnings from legacy product lines with Product Developers focused on new product development.
Partner with SharkNinja Testing and Quality organizations to define, develop, and manage quality and performance testing procedures.
Act as the product expert for cross-functional team members’ questions and concerns.
