About The Position

Playlist is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join a small founding team building 0-to-1 AI-driven software for small businesses across health, beauty, and wellness. The designer will help determine what to build, how it works, and why customers will choose it by working directly with business owners, uncovering unmet needs, shaping product direction, and turning early ideas into products customers rely on every day.

The role calls for an entrepreneurial designer with strong product judgment, exceptional craft, and the ability to move from customer insight to working product. The designer will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations, using AI to accelerate development and rethink what software can do on a customer’s behalf. They will shape AI-native experiences, product vision and roadmap, own end-to-end design from concepts through launch and improvement, and build reusable systems and AI-powered workflows that support high-quality product development at scale.

The U.S. base salary range is $140,000 to $180,000. Total compensation may also include a performance bonus, benefits, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans. Requirements

• At least 7 years of design experience.
• Experience building tools that businesses depend on day to day.
• Active use of LLMs such as Claude or ChatGPT in the design workflow.
• Experience shipping 0-to-1 products and successfully scaling their customer base, with the ability to discuss what worked, what broke, and what could be done differently.
• Experience building with AI or building AI-native products, and informed opinions on LLM limitations, designing for probabilistic outputs, and earning user trust in AI-driven experiences.
• Comfort with ambiguity and high agency, including setting priorities independently and thriving when creating the roadmap.
• Interest and ability in shaping product strategy, not only executing requirements.
• Strong systems-thinking skills across workflows, ecosystems, and interconnected products.

Responsibilities

• Determine when AI should assist, recommend, or act on a customer’s behalf, and when a straightforward interface is more appropriate.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to define product vision, priorities, and roadmap, connecting customer needs with business opportunity.
• Build direct relationships with business owners and practitioners; observe their work, test ideas, and iterate with them.
• Own end-to-end design from early concepts through onboarding, everyday workflows, launch, and ongoing improvement.
• Use AI tools, interactive prototypes, and working software to make ideas tangible and test assumptions quickly.
• Work with Product and Engineering to define requirements, make tradeoffs, and deliver useful increments.
• Create a distinctive, cohesive experience through thoughtful interaction design, strong visual craft, and reusable foundations.
• Build reusable components, shared context, and AI-powered workflows that help the team create, iterate, and ship high-quality experiences at scale.
