About The Position

Ondo Finance is seeking a hands-on Senior Product Designer to own its institutional and consumer design systems and support the marketing design system as needed. The role spans web and mobile and includes building and maintaining components, tokens, themes, patterns, Figma libraries, documentation, and governance. The designer will work closely with engineers to keep design and production libraries aligned, and will shape the visual language, motion, accessibility, and interaction details of the systems. This is a building role on a small, senior team with high ownership and low ego; the designer will work in Figma and alongside engineers daily, personally shipping system components while setting system direction. Success means both systems are broadly adopted across their products, Figma and code remain in parity, components meet WCAG AA, and teams ship faster with fewer one-off components. Documentation and governance should enable designers, engineers, product managers, and AI agents to use and contribute to the systems effectively. The company is remote-first, with team members across the U.S. and many other countries.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in product design, including 3+ years focused on design systems.
  • Experience building and scaling a shared design system across multiple products and platforms, including web and mobile, with mobile-specific systems and interactions.
  • Strong UI craft in visual hierarchy, typography, layout, and polished interaction details; a point of view on motion and visual expression, and judgment about when restraint is appropriate.
  • Ability to build scalable components and design tokens, including theming such as light/dark modes or multi-brand systems.
  • Strong understanding of how components and tokens translate into front-end libraries, how components are built, composed, and consumed in code (such as React, React Native, or Swift/Kotlin libraries), and how tokens flow from Figma into code.
  • Advanced Figma skills, including variables and modes, auto layout, component properties, and library management at scale.
  • Track record of partnering closely with engineers day to day, rather than relying on handoffs.
  • Strong accessibility knowledge and experience shipping WCAG AA-compliant components.
  • Clear documentation skills and experience running cross-team governance, including contribution models, review processes, and adoption.
  • Fluency with AI tooling in design or engineering workflows, including agents, markdown guideline files, and MCP integrations.
  • Experience with design-to-code tooling such as Code Connect, token pipelines, or Storybook.
  • Systems thinking, sharp attention to detail, and ability to see both patterns and pixels.
  • Portfolio showcasing design systems work, including components, tokens, documentation, and the reasoning behind design decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with crypto, onchain, or tokenized-asset products.
  • Experience in fintech, exchanges, or trading platforms, including familiarity with dense data tables, real-time state changes, numeric typography, and color semantics for gains, losses, and risk.
  • Familiarity with crypto and digital-asset products, tokenized assets, or markets.
  • Experience setting up motion and interaction standards within a design system.
  • Working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.

Responsibilities

  • Own the institutional and consumer design systems end to end, including components, design tokens, theming, patterns, and Figma libraries across web and mobile; support the marketing design system as needed.
  • Define the systems’ visual language, motion principles, and interaction details.
  • Design and ship system elements from primitives through page templates, including polished interactions, visual hierarchy, typography, and layouts suited to trading and financial interfaces.
  • Partner with UI engineers to ensure tokens and components map cleanly to the production component library and that Figma and code stay in sync.
  • Define mobile system behavior, including platform-appropriate interactions, responsive and adaptive behavior, and parity rules between web and native surfaces.
  • Ensure system components meet WCAG 2.2 AA, incorporating color contrast, focus and keyboard behavior, motion, and screen-reader semantics.
  • Write usage guidelines, do/don’t examples, and contribution guides for designers, engineers, and AI agents.
  • Run governance across teams, including contribution and review processes, versioning and deprecation, adoption tracking, and forums for proposing and resolving changes.
  • Proactively audit systems for gaps, inconsistencies, and drift across products, then prioritize and drive fixes.
  • Use AI tooling in daily work, including agents, markdown guideline files, and MCP integrations connecting design systems to design and engineering workflows.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, including salary and future token rights and/or equity according to preference.
  • Medical, vision, and dental benefits.
  • Flexible vacation policy (PTO).
  • Remote-first team across many countries.
  • Opportunity to join early and help shape the company’s vision, culture, and design practices.
