Senior Product Designer
About The Position
Owner is building an AI-native system for local business owners, starting with restaurants. This system aims to replace multiple tools owners currently use, powering everything from websites and online ordering to CRM and POS. The product philosophy centers on an agentic approach, where the software does the work for the owner to drive sales and profit growth. The vision is to help independent restaurants succeed online and then scale this solution to all local businesses, empowering them in the digital age. Since 2020, Owner has generated tens of millions in revenue, processed over a billion dollars in online orders, and served over 20,000 restaurant owners, saving them significant fees. The team, currently in the low hundreds, comprises top talent from leading companies in SMB software and is set to scale rapidly in 2026. Owner operates as a remote-first global company headquartered in San Francisco, with a sales hub in Toronto. While most roles are remote, some may prioritize in-person collaboration at office locations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience, with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects
- Strong product and visual design fundamentals, with a sharp eye for detail
- Comfort collaborating closely with engineers, prototyping your ideas in code, and even submitting PRs
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and make progress in a fast-moving environment
- Curiosity and confidence designing with new technologies, including AI
- Clear communication, strong ownership, and collaborative instincts
- A genuine care for users, craft, and real-world impact
Responsibilities
- Shape product direction by partnering closely with engineering, product, and leadership
- Own design work end-to-end, from early exploration and prototyping through build and production
- Design thoughtful, scalable experiences across the entire customer journey, including AI-powered features
- Contribute to and advance our design systems, patterns, and quality bar
- Advocate for clarity, simplicity, and usability as products move from idea to reality
