Senior Product Designer — SuppCo

Function Health•US - Remote,
•Remote

About The Position

SuppCo is seeking an exceptional individual contributor to tackle challenging product design tasks and establish design standards within the company. This is a hands-on role where the designer will be responsible for key product surfaces, systems, patterns, and standards. The designer will collaborate closely with the Senior Product Designer, forming the entire design team, and report to the Head of Product, partnering daily on product strategy and development. The role is unique due to an AI-accelerated engineering team, allowing the designer's leverage to come from creating robust design systems that enable engineers to ship on-brand and on-quality work efficiently. This frees up the design team to focus on high-stakes surfaces where craft and judgment are critical. The work involves both creating new features from scratch and optimizing existing ones, including a new membership and commerce experience, integrating SuppCo and Function Health products, and enhancing daily habit-forming features.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product design experience with a track record of shipping consumer mobile products.
  • Exceptional craft demonstrated through a portfolio of shipped work with attention to typography, layout, motion, and detail.
  • Design systems experience with evidence of adoption, including building or improving systems that teams actively use.
  • Systems thinking beyond components, encompassing flows, information architecture, and end-to-end journeys.
  • Strong presentation skills, able to articulate problems, options, tradeoffs, and outcomes clearly and persuasively.
  • Commerce, subscription, or transactional product experience, understanding how design impacts conversion and retention.
  • AI fluency, comfortable using AI tools to accelerate work and designing products with AI components.
  • Self-sufficiency, with the ability to set one's own process, conduct research, and remain effective in ambiguity and fast organizational change.
  • Desire to remain hands-on and deepen craft and influence.
  • Passion for health and wellness and for products that measurably improve people's lives.

Nice To Haves

  • Prototyping in code or with AI tools to pressure-test interactions.
  • Understanding of AI's utility and limitations, with continuous retesting of boundaries.
  • Background in health, wellness, nutrition, diagnostics, or the supplement industry.
  • Marketplace or e-commerce design depth (search, browse, product detail pages, checkout).
  • Experience designing data-dense consumer interfaces (scores, charts, lab results).
  • Experience with community, social, or content-discovery products.
  • Experience with habit-forming products (tracking, streaks, reminders, adherence).
  • Brand and visual identity range beyond product UI.
  • Previous experience at early-stage startups (seed to Series B).

Responsibilities

  • Design the product, owning end-to-end product design across SuppCo's mobile and web experiences, including problem framing, IA, flows, interaction, and polished, production-ready UI, focusing on the most challenging and high-stakes surfaces.
  • Own and scale the design system, maturing components, patterns, tokens, and documentation to ensure a fast-moving, AI-accelerated engineering team ships consistent, high-quality work without constant design review.
  • Optimize critical funnels and experiences, including onboarding, activation, and re-engagement, to improve performance.
  • Design the membership and commerce experience, focusing on surfaces for product discovery, value understanding, and transactions.
  • Connect SuppCo and Function Health products by improving core flows that translate biomarker insights into supplement actions and vice versa.
  • Deepen the core experience by improving the daily loop, including stack management, scheduling, adherence, and AI-guided discovery through SuppIQ.
  • Present design work clearly and persuasively to stakeholders, articulating the problem, considered options, tradeoffs, and expected outcomes.
  • Ground design decisions in evidence, using research, feedback, and product analytics to understand user behavior and measure impact.
  • Design AI-native experiences, shaping conversational and agentic surfaces where the interface blends language and UI, and patterns are still being invented.
