Senior Product Designer

MycroftToronto, ON
CA$100,000 - CA$140,000Hybrid

About The Position

Mycroft is an AI-native security and compliance platform. Specialized AI agents and human experts work side by side to secure our customers' devices, manage their vulnerabilities, and quantify their risk. We exist because businesses looking to become or stay compliant have poor options to choose from: performative, do-it-yourself checklists, or expensive and time-consuming consultants. We win by combining the best of both: world-class expertise combined with a cutting-edge agentic platform designed for making continuous compliance accessible to all. We've doubled revenue in the past six months and are on track to grow revenue 5x this year. We're still early. The team is small enough that what you own is genuinely yours, and we're moving fast enough that your work compounds. The hard part is shipping at that pace while earning the trust our customers stake their entire security and compliance posture on. We don't manage that by slowing down. We hire people who can be fast and rigorous at the same time. Our customers act on what our agents and screens tell them, so design carries unusual weight here. Information density, state clarity, and trust are the product. We're looking for a senior product designer to own that bar.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product design experience with clear ownership of complex B2B or expert-tool surfaces (e.g., data-heavy, workflow-heavy, regulated, or infrastructure products).
  • Portfolio demonstrating information architecture and state logic, not just visual polish.
  • Experience building or significantly evolving a design system in production.
  • Proficiency in choosing the best artifact for communication (diagrams, prototypes, static handoffs) and leveraging AI tooling for speed.
  • Experience mentoring designers and raising a team's design bar.
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineers, including naming states and edge cases and negotiating scope.
  • Located in the Toronto / GTA area.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • An appetite for getting hands-on with the compliance domain.
  • Genuine interest in the security and compliance industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Regulated-domain experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the hardest design problems, including dense, expert-facing workflows across frameworks, controls, evidence, and risk, where a wrong abstraction costs customers real compliance outcomes.
  • Define and uphold the craft bar for product design at Mycroft, including the design system, patterns, and quality standards.
  • Ensure design-to-build fidelity by working closely with engineers through implementation, knowing when to prioritize polish and when to ship rough.
  • Mentor a junior designer through critique, pairing, and standards, and elevate the team's overall design capabilities.

Benefits

  • Health and dental coverage.
  • Tooling stipend: a monthly stipend to spend on productivity tools like AI subscriptions and design software.
