Senior Product Designer
About The Position
As a Senior Product Designer at TRM Labs, you will design the tools that help investigators and compliance teams investigate and disrupt crime. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design of core workflows across TRM's public and private sector products, focusing on the agentic experience where users interact with AI. Your work will involve creating reusable patterns for the design system, ensuring high quality through build reviews with engineering, and making complex data clear and actionable for expert users. You will also design how AI agents present their reasoning and how humans collaborate with them, with a strong emphasis on building trust. The role involves working closely with Product Managers and Engineers in discovery and launch cycles, adapting designs as needed during the build process, and utilizing AI tools to accelerate your design process.
Requirements
- Portfolio demonstrating craft in complex, data-heavy B2B product work with sharp information architecture and interactions.
- Ability to drive design forward proactively and involve PMs, engineers, and other designers early.
- Experience designing product surfaces where AI or automation performs significant work for the user, or a clear point of view on this design challenge.
- Systems thinking approach, treating solutions as reusable patterns and contributing to or scaling a design system.
- Ability to move fast, with good judgment on when polish is necessary.
- AI fluency: applying AI to accelerate workflows, structure problems, improve output quality, and increase speed and leverage.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end design for core workflows across public and private sector products, from first sketch to shipping.
- Design the agentic experience, including how users hand work to AI, check its output, and decide whether to trust it.
- Contribute reusable patterns to the design system that can be used by both designers and AI tools.
- Ensure the quality of shipped products through close collaboration and build reviews with engineering.
- Learn user workflows deeply to anticipate needs and make complex data clear without oversimplifying.
- Design how AI agents show their reasoning, sources, and confidence, and define human intervention points.
- Utilize AI tools to explore design directions, generate variants, and create clickable prototypes quickly.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers in discovery and launch cycles, providing on-the-spot design adjustments and clear reasoning.
- Determine the appropriate scope for design solutions (e.g., 1-day, 1-week, 1-month versions).
