About The Position

Databricks is hiring Product Designers to own design for an area of the Databricks Platform, spanning areas such as data engineering, analytics, databases, apps, and AI agents. Designers are matched to an area where their skills and interests can have the most impact. The role serves technical and business users, making powerful capabilities clear, controllable, and trustworthy for enterprise customers. The Senior Product Designer owns their area end to end, setting design direction and carrying work from problem framing and interaction models through visual polish and shipped details. They make key design decisions, review work from designers, product managers, engineers, and AI tools, and remain hands-on in improving the work. They engage regularly with customers, select appropriate research methods, define success for key user tasks, and demonstrate improvements using research, usability testing, and product usage. The designer uses prototypes to explore ambiguous problems, reduce risk, and align teams; influences product and engineering decisions through clear communication; and designs scoped changes directly in the codebase using AI coding agents in collaboration with engineers. They establish reusable UX principles and interaction patterns, contribute to cross-platform design-system consistency, and foster high-quality critique and decision-making with product and engineering partners.
