About The Position

Stord is seeking an energetic expert to join their rapidly growing team as a Senior Product Designer. This role will lead design for Stord's brand-facing and consumer-facing subscription portals, physical inserts product (Unbox), and international checkout, along with other experiences aimed at fostering customer loyalty. The designer will own design quality within this domain, contribute to roadmap development through design, and help elevate the skills of the design team. The position focuses on creating user experiences during critical consumer moments such as order tracking, subscription management, and resolving delivery issues, with the goal of reducing anxiety, building trust, and creating loyalty. This role offers the opportunity to impact millions of consumers across hundreds of brands, own a significant product domain, influence strategic decisions, and directly impact business metrics like conversion rates and customer satisfaction. The position also involves leveraging AI design tools for rapid prototyping and iteration, and contributing to the growth of a 5-person design team. The ideal candidate is energized by consumer psychology, comfortable with ambiguity, and skilled at communicating the emotional aspects of post-purchase experiences to engineering teams.

Requirements

7+ years of product design experience, including at least 3 years designing consumer-facing digital products.
Deep craft in UX and UI across the full design lifecycle, with a portfolio that shows how you led complex problems from ambiguity to shipped outcomes.
B2C design fluency: a deep understanding of consumer psychology, behavior patterns, and expectations.
Multi-platform design: experience creating responsive experiences across mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Mixed-methods research: proven ability to run generative and evaluative research, combine it with analytics, and turn insights into design and product direction.
Design systems: experience shaping and stewarding significant portions of a design system, not only using one.
Accessibility: working knowledge of WCAG and a track record of championing inclusive design.
Modern design tools: advanced proficiency in Figma, including prototyping and component libraries, literacy in AI tools as part of your process, and appetite to learn new tools such as Claude and Claude Design.
Experience owning design quality across a product domain or multiple features at once, with minimal direction.
A record of influencing product direction and roadmap decisions through design, not only executing briefs.
Experience mentoring other designers through feedback and pairing, and raising the bar in critiques.
Comfort advocating for users with evidence in cross-functional discussions, including pushing back on scope or direction when user needs aren't being served.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design for subscriptions portals, international checkout, and other post-purchase touchpoints, including ambiguous and multi-surface problems.
Own design quality across multiple teams, working on multiple features at once with minimal direction.
Create responsive experiences that work beautifully across mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Design experiences that adapt to different brand aesthetics while maintaining usability and accessibility.
Optimize for conversion, completion rates, and customer satisfaction at every touchpoint.
Identify problems worth solving before they land on your desk, and propose solutions backed by evidence.
Drive mixed-methods research: generative research to understand consumer behavior, anxieties, and expectations, evaluative testing to validate solutions, and analytics to find friction at scale.
Translate consumer insights into compelling design narratives that get engineering teams emotionally invested.
Present design rationale that connects user emotions to business metrics (CSAT, NPS, repeat purchase rates).
Use your work to influence roadmap conversations and cross-functional decisions, and advocate for users with evidence when tradeoffs arise.
Leverage AI design tools for quick prototyping and design exploration to accelerate velocity.
Create high-fidelity prototypes that validate concepts before engineering investment.
Iterate based on usability testing, A/B test results, and consumer feedback.
Balance design perfection with shipping velocity and deliver great experiences quickly.
Partner with product managers to shape roadmaps based on consumer insights.
Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible while pushing for exceptional UX.
Shape and steward significant portions of the design system, keeping consumer touchpoints consistent and scalable.
Champion accessibility and inclusive design practices across the domain.
Raise the quality of design critiques with thoughtful, actionable feedback.
Introduce or improve design practices and standards that benefit the broader team.
Define success metrics for your designs tied to conversion, completion rates, and satisfaction scores.
Analyze behavior data to identify friction points and optimization opportunities.
Continuously refine experiences based on performance data and user feedback.
