About The Position

At LearnLux, you will build a product that changes lives. Our mission is to empower people to take control of their financial future, whether that means getting out of debt, buying their first home, or preparing for retirement. As a Senior Product Designer & Builder, you'll shape that mission by defining how people experience our platform: the flows they navigate, the decisions they're guided through, and the moments where complexity becomes clarity. This is not a traditional design role where you wait for product requirements. You're an autonomous IC who owns the entire product lifecycle, from early discovery and research through polished UI, roadmap advocacy, and built-in-code prototypes. You bridge the gap between thinking and doing, using AI as leverage to move from an idea to a validated, shippable solution in record time. We are an agile product team, and this role is broad by design. You'll own research, design, prototyping, and systems thinking across our product. We'll prioritize together, and you won't be expected to do everything at once, but you should be energized by the range, not daunted by it. If you're excited by broad ownership, high impact, and the opportunity to shape how millions of people engage with their financial lives, we'd love to meet you. This role reports into the Head of Engineering. This role is based in Denver, Colorado. Remote candidates will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, ideally with exposure to fintech or complex B2B SaaS.
  • A builder mindset: a track record of shipping things beyond Figma files. Whether that’s frontend code, AI-assisted prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex), or something else, you close the gap between design and production.
  • Research fluency: demonstrated ability to plan and conduct rapid user testing, draw insightful conclusions, and translate findings into product decisions.
  • AI maturity: you’re comfortable experimenting with emerging tools to streamline research, prototyping, and synthesis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with research ops tools (e.g., Rally, User Interviews, Dovetail).
  • A background in behavioral economics, individualized psychology, or localization/globalization.
  • Prior experience as a first design hire or working in a 0-to-1 environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Full Design Loop. Move fluidly between rough sketches, functional prototypes, and high-fidelity flows. You take responsibility for the softer elements of design and UX: understanding mental models, brainstorming solutions, and rapid testing.
  • Lead Continuous Discovery. Run lightweight, ongoing user research. Recruit participants, conduct rapid tests, and synthesize qualitative signals into actionable product decisions. You maintain a continuous discovery cadence so the team always has fresh evidence to build on.
  • Use AI as a Force Multiplier. Use modern AI tools to accelerate your workflow: transcribing interviews, extracting themes, prototyping ideas, and turning qualitative data into clear insights. You treat AI as leverage, not a shortcut.
  • Shape the Roadmap. You won’t just execute on someone else’s vision. Use evidence-based conclusions to advocate for user needs, influence product direction, and ensure initiatives are followed through to implementation.
  • Build Shoulder-to-Shoulder. Work closely with engineering, analytics, product leads, and our co-founders. You’d rather hash things out in a live working session than leave comments in Figma for a week.
  • Evolve the Design System. Contribute to the LearnLux design system, creating reusable patterns that let the team move fast without sacrificing quality or visual consistency.
  • Push Toward Adaptive UX. Help evolve our product experience toward more personalized, intent-driven patterns. Bring a point of view on how AI can reshape the way users interact with financial planning tools.
