About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Producer on Fortune’s video feature team, focused on must-know business news across core coverage areas and Fortune 500 coverage. In this role, you will help lead the editorial and technical production of video features and vodcasts, including producing, scripting, filming, editing, and coordinating distribution across platforms and formats. This role requires working in close collaboration with the Supervising and Executive Producers, the newsroom, the Fortune Daily team, and the events team. You will support editorial meetings to plan weekly vodcasts and monthly features, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and differentiation from our competitors. You will develop and pilot new digital video formats and series, script and edit, and write headlines and descriptions tailored to a YouTube audience. Additionally, you will oversee guest booking, logistics, and production to ensure our video offering is strong and consistent in its quality across Fortune Daily, vodcasts, and feature offerings. Top candidates for this role will have sharp editorial judgment, strong technical and studio production skills, and experience working on digital business features and piloting new digital video formats. Collaboration, decisiveness, and clear communication skills are critical, as you will work in close partnership with multiple stakeholders. This position is based in our New York office and reports to the Executive Producer.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience producing and editing for a digital video outlet or high-frequency video format.
  • 2+ years in a senior production role in a newsroom.
  • Deep knowledge of YouTube analytics and strategy.
  • Advanced proficiency in studio camera and lighting setups.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere.
  • Excellent news judgment and a deep understanding of, and interest in, business news and current events.
  • Experience managing booking, scheduling, and logistics in fast-paced newsroom environments.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Pilot new digital video series and formats
  • Produce and edit business-focused features and video podcasts
  • Work as needed to support production of segments for Fortune Daily; Fortune’s premier daily video product
  • Manage all aspects of technical production in-studio and on location at Fortune and external events.
  • Oversee the fact-checking and editorial review process.
  • Support the booking of high-profile guests, including executives, founders, policymakers, and Fortune reporters.
  • Work closely with Fortune reporters to prepare them for on-air appearances.
  • Manage crews on-site at events or in the studio, as necessary.
  • Support production and post-production workflows and program distribution for new series, ensuring all projects meet editorial and production standards and schedules.
