About The Position

Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our Corporate Services & Communications team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to provide our customers with the safe, reliable, affordable energy they depend on. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote after a period of demonstrated proficiency in the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6 or more years related work experience
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
  • Knowledge of contracting practices, terms, and conditions
  • Knowledge of developing and writing a statement of work
  • Knowledge of negotiation techniques and supplier management practices
  • Knowledge of competitive bidding processes
  • Knowledge of contracting strategies and principles for a wide range of service/goods industries
  • Knowledge of ERP and EAM systems
  • Knowledge of business acumen
  • Experience in procurement and compliance, with a focus on regulatory requirements, documentation, audit readiness, and stakeholder education.
  • Skills in excellent time management, decision making, and analytical skills
  • Skills in effective problem solving, critical thinking, and negotiation skills
  • Skills in verbal, written, and professional communication, including effective listening

Responsibilities

  • Lead stakeholders in the development of internal customer materials and service contracts of significant risk and/or complexity.
  • Lead competitive bidding processes, negotiate, and prepare contract documents.
  • Meet business unit cost objectives with focus on best value to Idaho Power.
  • Be prepared to work extended hours during major emergencies (e.g., fires, outages) to support critical operations.
  • Remain accessible outside normal business hours to respond to urgent leadership or customer needs.
  • Mentor and guide peers, leveraging procurement expertise to strengthen team capability.
