About The Position

Fleming and Baron (an ASSA ABLOY company) is adding a Senior Procurement Specialist to join their team. This position will be on-site at their manufacturing facility in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada. The role is responsible for complex and high value spend categories, leading supplier performance management, cost-reduction initiatives, and procurement process improvements while serving as a subject matter expert within the Supply Chain team. The company is looking for individuals who have experience as a Buyer or in Procurement, enjoy building relationships with external vendors, managing inventory, and want to be in an environment where they have a voice and can see the impact of their efforts.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain
  • Working knowledge and application of Lean Methodologies
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience working cross-functionally on projects and goal achievement
  • Excellent computer skills & proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Ability to drive change through others and able to drive standard work procedures
  • Must have excellent understanding of manufacturing planning systems and technologies and an ability to utilize that understanding to drive improvements in a large manufacturing facility
  • Must have ability to work with multiple technology platforms
  • Ability to understand and contribute to quality initiatives
  • Demonstrated track record of being a self-starter or being resourceful
  • Ability to travel occasionally by all methods of transportation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly analytical and have an ability to compile and present data and information in a clear concise and engaging format
  • Ability to think and react quickly to changing situations and adjust to changing priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in APICS or similar organization a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing and categories aligned with business objectives
  • Drive long-term supplier partnerships that create sustainable value
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, service levels and commercial terms
  • Resolve supplier performance concerns while maintaining productive business relationships
  • Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives across material and service categories
  • Identify opportunities for consumption reduction, specification optimization, alternative materials, and process efficiencies
  • Analyze spend data, supplier performance metrics, inventory trends, and procurement KPIs, and translate trends into actionable items
  • Lead procurement and supply chain process improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a procurement subject matter expert within the organization
  • Support organizational transformation and continuous improvement efforts
  • Work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve business goals
