The Senior Procurement Specialist leads more complex procurement activities, providing expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization. They mentor junior procurement staff and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support company-wide procurement strategies, contributing to operational efficiency and financial performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or sourcing roles.
- Proven track record of successful negotiation and supplier management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
- Leadership experience or capability to lead cross-functional project teams.
Nice To Haves
- advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPSM, CPP) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for assigned categories or projects.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management to maximize value and minimize risk.
- Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and coordinate supplier performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including finance, legal, operations, and engineering.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Mentor and train junior procurement team members.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems.
- Generate detailed procurement reports and provide insights to senior management.
- Support demand planning and inventory optimization efforts.
