About The Position

Runpod is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to lead strategic sourcing and high-level negotiation for the Cloud side of the business. This role involves procuring significant amounts of cloud infrastructure, requiring strong legal and financial acumen. The position offers an opportunity to drive commercial strategy, secure complex vendor partnerships, and significantly impact the company's financial operations. The role is embedded within Engineering and requires close collaboration with engineering teams and finance leadership to align procurement strategies with product delivery timelines and growth goals.

Requirements

  • Extensive, proven experience managing the full lifecycle of procurement, with a strong emphasis on negotiating and completing complicated, enterprise-level contracts.
  • Deep familiarity with financial structuring within contracts, including leveraging payment terms, balancing capital expenditures against cash flow, and maximizing value through credit discounting.
  • Strong capability to navigate and review complex legal jargon, ensuring company interests are protected while facilitating smooth collaboration with legal counsel.
  • Eagerness to tackle supply chain bottlenecks, navigate challenging vendor dynamics, and creatively structure deals that benefit the company's financial health.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience procuring hardware, software, or services specifically within the datacenter, cloud computing, networking, or AI technology space.
  • Familiarity with modern procurement software, ERP systems, and supply chain best practices in a high-growth tech environment.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, remote-first startup environment.
  • Advanced degree or certification in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Law (e.g., CPSM, JD).

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end negotiations for intricate, high-value agreements, focusing on optimal payment schedules, cost structuring against cash flow, and strategic discounting of credits.
  • Manage relationships with critical suppliers to secure the best possible terms for infrastructure needs.
  • Act as the primary liaison between procurement and Legal, reviewing complex contract clauses, translating commercial requirements into legal frameworks, and streamlining contract execution.
  • Analyze procurement data and vendor proposals to forecast expenses, mitigate supply chain risks, and drive continuous cost improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams and finance leadership to understand technical requirements and align procurement strategies with product delivery timelines and company growth goals.
