About The Position

WECTEC Staffing Services, a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer for a remote contract opportunity. This role supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions by focusing on Nuclear Operating Plant obsolescence programs. The engineer will provide engineering solutions to obsolescence challenges for commercial nuclear power plant systems and components, support operations and maintenance, and guide clients through program implementation, technical evaluations, and compliance strategies. The position requires creating and submitting engineering documentation, performing item equivalency evaluations, developing commercial grade dedication packages, classifying material masters, resolving procurement engineering holds, and working within project constraints to meet deadlines. The role also involves collaborating with multi-discipline teams, improving group capabilities in Nuclear Power Plant Technology, supporting project managers, presenting recommendations to client leadership, and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen/ Permanent Resident - required
  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Civil or related discipline)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the nuclear power, manufacturing, or similar industry; 7+ years
  • Advanced degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Prior unescorted security clearance authorization to work onsite at a Commercial Nuclear Facility
  • Prior/current qualifications to utility Procurement Engineering Program

Responsibilities

  • Support projects related to Nuclear Operating Plant obsolescence programs.
  • Provide Engineering Solutions to obsolescence challenges associated with commercial nuclear power plant systems and components.
  • Support operations and maintenance with the ability to guide utility clients through program implementation, technical evaluations, and compliance strategies.
  • Create, and submit engineering documentation.
  • Perform Item Equivalency Evaluations.
  • Develop Commercial Grade Dedication Packages.
  • Perform Material Master Classifications.
  • Resolve Procurement Engineering Holds.
  • Work within project constraints to meet project delivery deadlines.
  • Collaborate with a multi-discipline team while driving to improve group capability on all Nuclear Power Plant Technology.
  • Support project managers and leaders to provide project technical oversight.
  • Present recommendations to client fleet/station leadership to ensure agreement and approval of deliverables.
  • Provide mentoring of other engineering team members and client project team members.
