About The Position

The Senior Process Improvement Professional analyzes, and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. The Senior Process Improvement Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Where you Come In The Senior Process Improvement Professional researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data. Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost. Determines how new information technologies can support re-engineering business processes. May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and re-engineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of comprehensive, end-to-end process management experience and/or a minimum of 5 years in project management roles.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience translating requirements across business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing medium to large-scale projects, preferably within a payor and/or healthcare environment.
  • Proven experience utilizing Agile methodologies, including project management within Agile frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in communicating effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain all project artifacts.
  • Proven capability to manage stakeholders and hold them accountable for deliverables.
  • Skilled in facilitating meetings with participants at various levels, ensuring all relevant information is captured and addressed.
  • Regular and proficient use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and Visio.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of a project, from scoping through execution, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
  • Assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • The candidate will work in an environment with ever changing legal, regulatory, and industry requirements and must be adaptable in order to work with different personalities and project topics.
  • The candidate must understand how to define the scope of a project, facilitate/document scope of a project, facilitation of root cause analysis, data collection/analysis, project planning, resource planning, and status reporting.
  • Responsible for managing all phases of the project cycle which includes initiation (scope management), planning (activity definition and scheduling, resource planning, budgeting, and risk management) execution (stakeholder, team, and milestones/tasks management), control (scope verification and change control, cost and quality, and risk monitoring), and closing (closeout, issue resolution, lessons learned, and final project documentation).
  • Apply process improvement/project management methods to reduce variation in processes and to improve results
  • Assesses business and operational needs for opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, effectiveness and accuracy and analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable process improvements
  • Determine how new information technologies can support re-reengineering business processes to promote automation resulting in higher accuracy and faster processing
  • Review expectations/deliverables prepared by senior leadership/ business owner
  • Understand financial ROI
  • Coordinate deliverables with business owner and coordinate and maintain project plan and drive towards deliverables
  • Provide strong organization and effective communication skills (oral and written) with project stakeholders including senior and executive leadership and conduct meetings and disseminate communication related to deliverables (agendas, minutes, project planning documents, etc.)
