About The Position

The Senior Process Engineer will manage the plant-wide Technical function, overseeing the VISO Technical Manager and Automation Engineer. This role is responsible for ensuring all processes comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards for both the Mix plant and Viso plant. The position involves assessing process capability through PFMEA and other studies, driving improvement actions, and reviewing/updating process control documents like Control Plans and Standard Work Instructions. The Senior Process Engineer will track KPI performance, lead problem-solving initiatives, analyze customer complaints and internal rejects, and design, validate, and implement new manufacturing processes. Additionally, this role will identify equipment and tooling needs, support capital budgeting, manage equipment suppliers, coordinate capital projects, and oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • Five years of experience in a similar position including both technical process engineering and managerial skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of process engineering and control practices (PFMEA, Design for Manufacturing, Control Plans).
  • Knowledge of Project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
  • Knowledge of Problem solving tools (i.e.: 8D, Six sigma, 5 Why, SMED).
  • Knowledge of Processes for manufacturing refractories.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine and programming.
  • Knowledge of Use of measuring devices (Caliper, micrometer, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Drawing reading.
  • Knowledge of Work area layout for efficiency.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles (waste reduction, 5-S, etc.).

  • Strong data analysis capability; adept at validating and using information to support decision making.
  • Experienced and effective in using formal problem-solving tools.
  • Adept of computer software and tools to analyze data, present recommendations, and manage projects (e.g. Power BI, Autocad, MS Office tools).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the plant-wide Technical function including the activities of the VISO Technical Manager and Automation Engineer.
  • Ensure all processes comply with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards, for Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Assess process capability by conducting PFMEA and other studies as required. Drive improvement actions as required, for Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Review and update Control Plans and Standard Work Instructions, OK to Start Checklists and other process control documents, and ensure they are followed by Production employees and leaders of Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Track KPI performance, including but not limited to VOS KPIs, and lead problem-solving and continuous improvement actions based on actual versus targeted performance for Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Analyze customer complaints and internal rejects, conduct root cause analysis, and drive improvement actions for Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Design, validate, and implement new or changed manufacturing processes as required for Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Identify and prioritize needs for new equipment and tooling to meet the Plant’s capability and capacity requirements. Support the annual capital budgeting process by identifying and recommending solutions (with implementation cost and timing), for Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Prepare capex submissions and supporting business cases as required for Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Manage equipment suppliers and coordinate internal resources to execute capex projects on time and on budget, for Mix plant and Viso plant.
  • Coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings and related actions to ensure capable processes are in place for on-time production launch readiness, for Mix plant and Viso plant.
