About The Position

This role requires a high level of on-site engagement at the Jaffrey facility to support project execution, field coordination, operational integration, and stakeholder alignment throughout all phases of capital project delivery. Active collaboration with manufacturing and site leadership teams is essential to ensure successful implementation, startup readiness, and long-term operational sustainability. As a Senior Process Engineer and Process Discipline Lead, you will play a pivotal role in advancing regional and global capital investment projects and driving project delivery performance. This dynamic position involves providing specialized knowledge for capital projects, collaborating on global process engineering strategies and standards, and enhancing CAPEX project development and execution within the Life Science (LS) sector. This position will be based at our Jaffrey, New Hampshire site within ISCO Engineering & Technology (E&T), Global Process Engineering organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in process engineering environment with strong focus on CAPEX project delivery.
  • Understand best engineering practices, unit operations and standard equipment, such as heat exchangers, pumps, tanks, vacuum systems, piping, and other equipment or infrastructure essential to build manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to use best practices and knowledge with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across a matrix organization, engaging with global colleagues, external engineering firms, equipment vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly motivated team player with strong attitude and sense of ownership and are willing to assume accountability for own results.
  • Able to build trust and contribute to positive team dynamics by demonstrating cultural sensitivity in the context of a multicultural and globally distributed team.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to fulfill project needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in leading the development and delivery of capital investment projects or significant work packages of projects within an operations or supply chain environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Engineering concepts and related equipment in at least one of the core LS technologies preferably membrane casting and mechanical device assembly.
  • Solid understanding of process control fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, COMOS and similar CAE tools.
  • Proficiency in ChemCAD or other process simulation software is considered a plus.
  • Proven experience in process safety assessments (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA).
  • IPMA, PMP certification is considered a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a mixed environment to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to impact project activities, guide and influence peers and management, and contributes to the technical or even strategic direction within own specialized area and beyond.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Additional language skills besides English are considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage major Global CAPEX process engineering work packages end-to-end, from ideation and concept study through basic and detailed design, installation, and commissioning until final handover to production, to deliver integrated, functional process technology solutions that meet customer needs and business goals.
  • Leverage project management principles to function as Process Workstream Lead, ensuring that high quality process work package is delivered in adherence to approved project scope, schedule, and budget while following our Front-End Loading (FEL) stage-gate process.
  • Lead an integrated team for process engineering design including but not limited to developing scope definitions for manufacturing concepts, analyzing and recommending design options for process optimization and debottlenecking to maximize business value.
  • Collaborate with other ISCO SME groups to integrate advanced automation and smart manufacturing technologies into the manufacturing process design that will improve process control, operator efficiency, risk reduction, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor deliveries within the scope of CAPEX process engineering work packages, and lead factory acceptance test (FAT), site acceptance test (SAT), commissioning and qualification of process equipment.
  • Support converting business needs into viable and realistic CAPEX projects and developing the projects through FEL process for improved project approval.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout all project phases, ensuring compliance with user requirements specifications, safety standards and corporate sustainability requirements.
  • Mentor less experienced process engineers and perform technical reviews to ensure quality and efficiency across all project phases.
  • Develop and expand specialized process engineering know-how and market knowledge in one of our Life Science core technologies, e. g. membrane production, device manufacturing, cell culture media and ready-to-use media, , solvents manufacturing, novel modalities, inorganic salts production, APIs, single-use bags production, fill and pack, etc..
