About The Position

Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, the Senior Process Engineer supports the Process Engineering Team by actively engaging in high-level technical daily operations. The role focuses on active engagement and coaching, while mentoring developing Process Engineers. The Senior Process Engineer will collaboratively work with Process Engineers to support production demands that require a high skill set and knowledge to successfully resolve in a timely manner to meet organizational goals and KPIs. The Senior Process Engineer will identify problematic processes, apply appropriate scientific studies, quantify root cause, and then implement or take appropriate corrective action to resolve root cause. They will share key findings and communicate to the Engineering team to develop and drive co-consciousness by identifying and sharing best practices, creating standard work instructions as needed. The Senior Process Engineer will attend weekly team meetings held by the Process Engineering Manager and assist with feedback and materials to support findings or initiatives. They will actively participate in cross-functional training activities as a mentor and leader. The Senior Process Engineer will collaborate and effectively communicate across all supporting departments, acting as a liaison to foster teamwork and drive sustainable improvement. The Senior Process Engineer drives team alignment and execution of scientific molding principles. They practice active engagement and mentorship of developing Process Engineers, fostering knowledge and consensus in alignment with established Work Instructions (WIs) and best practices. The Senior Process Engineer will take directions from the Process Engineering Manager and assist in training, teaching, and implementing technical directives aligning with organizational goals. They will actively participate in the facilitation to grow and develop Engineering staff, assisting in their career paths. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Apprenticeship, or 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong Scientific molding background RJG MMI, MMII preferred.
  • Ability to complete Excel based SIM workbook studies and interpret data outputs.
  • Working Knowledge of RJG’s CoPilot system and graph interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate strong communication/mentoring skills: classes, training or relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate soft skills to effectively engage with different personalities and learning styles.
  • Ability and willingness to attend and participate in relevant job training/education.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE in designated areas.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and adequate insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Process Engineers on troubleshooting advanced processing issues, ensuring troubleshooting guides and applicable scientific studies are being implemented.
  • Train, mentor, and develop Process Engineers while ensuring adherence to plant Policies, procedures, SOP’s, WI’s and best practices.
  • Conduct regular process compliance audits to ensure processes are being followed, report adverse findings to Process Engineering Supervisor.
  • Drive urgency and sense of responsibility, leading by example showing drive to meet KPIs.
  • Mentor through sharing knowledge and experience, challenging Process Engineers to think and problem solve, lead and mentor in a manner they learn from.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering Manager and supervisor to facilitate learning goals and objectives that align with individuals career path and trajectory.
  • Engage through situational awareness and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrate and teach utilization of SIM studies to identify root cause and problem solve.
  • Develop and update standard WI’s/SOP’s based on observed deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Effectively communicate observations and findings of process related issues back to Process Engineering Supervisor for documentation and record keeping.
  • Submit accurate and up-to-date documentation of processes for EQMS database entry.
  • Recognize suboptimal conditions or process strategies, then take appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Lead and mentor through active engagement, training efforts, lean principles, and adherence to standard work procedures.
  • Coordinate with Process Engineering Supervisor to meet the dynamic needs of production to ensure goals and KPIs are being met.
  • Build strong working relationships with Manufacturing, Quality, Project Management, Maintenance, and Automation teams.
  • Mentor Engineers and convey scientific molding methodology through effective communication across supporting teams.
  • Assist Process Engineering manager by leading and driving strategic plant goals through quantifiable actions.
  • Share key findings or lessons of the week with Process Engineering group during weekly standup meetings held by Process Engineering Supervisor.
  • Facilitate cross-functional training opportunities while actively engaging and mentoring.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities for the Good Hope plant.
  • Research new manufacturing technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain open communication with Process Engineering Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Process Engineering Manager.
  • Ability to fill in for Process Engineering Supervisor as needed.
